Motel is in a nice location just across the street from the beach. The motel is definitely in need of some up dates but for one night it did what it was supposed to do. It is family operated and they do a good job keeping everyone happy. The place is clean and the roof didn't leak and the beach...

Perfect view - directly across from the beach. Owners are super friendly. A mom-pop property but I didn't mind it at all. It's not the best in luxury but just enough to satisfy my needs. A bed and place to shower. The wifi was ok and believe it or not - there was a little snow flurries.

Stayed here for a work on business, tried to find some budget motels and decided on this one. So far the owner is nice and the rooms may not be Marriott quality but again you get what you pay for. Right across from the beach and its quiet. Not the worst I've been to and definitely not the best.

There aren't a lot of hotels as you head west on Highway 98 near Port Saint Joe, FL, but no matter how tired you are, drive past the Gulf Sands Motel. (Turns out there are several nicer hotels 3-4 miles down the road-if only I'd known, but my cell phone couldn't get any service in that area, so I wasn't...

First let me address so many of the negative reviews- The staff- including the owners were nothing but polite and pleasant to us. They smiled at us and answered any questions promptly and were not intrusive. The front desk area was clean and I never saw an animal there. That being said- this is a low budget motel. The rooms...

Creepy staff, terrible rooms, across the street from the beach. I stayed there one night when nothing else was available. Got some kind of insect bite, probably a spider, during the night. If this is your only option, keep going on to St. Joe.

My family has stayed here twice. Everything went great. Rooms were clean, owners were nice, bathrooms were clean. I had my coffee in the mornings listening to the waves crashing onto the shore across the road. When we were hot and tired from the sun and swimming at the beach, we would come right back to the hotel room without...

Like many or most other guests, we booked into the Gulf Sands Motel because there was NO other option within 40 miles. It was Valentine's Day and we hadn't made reservations anywhere. We were exhausted from a very long day of driving, through freezing weather (without heat in the car) and then warm weather in northern FL. Suffice it to...

I find it difficult to leave negative reviews however ..... We arrived and were checked in at the "cheap" price of 70 dollars. We arrived at the room and as soon as we opened the door the smell of mildew hit us. We saw a number of cockroaches in the room and when I went to the office to complain...

Couldn't find a room anywhere after traveling 300 miles on a motorcycle. Had no other choice. There is something dark that's been running down the wall. Laid on the bed and a spider ran across my arm. Had a bad smell. The TV kept buzzing. Low class room that was almost scary for $100 a night.
