The Alexander Homestead is a great location, walking distance to most everything. The breakfasts were more than gormet and very satisfying. The owner provided anything we could have possibly wanted and the ambiance of the Victorian home was enchanting! Very relaxing, the porches were an added bonus!

My partner and I had the best stay at Bonnie Alexander's Homestead B&B. The care that was given to us was fabulous. The breakfasts were super and the location of this B&B was a very short walking distance to everything there was to see. She made us feel like one of the family. Our room was taken care of by... This B&B is the prototype of what a B&B should be. Very nice rooms, clean, convenient to local attractions, nice amenities, good breakfast, adequate parking and a gracious hostess.

It was more than we expected. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The shared guest rooms and our private bedroom were tastefully decordated and very warm and inviting and very clean. Not only was our hostess friendly; she was an awesome cook. The location of the Inn was perfect and within walking distance to the shops,... More

My husband and I have recently returned from spending our 45th Wedding Anniversary with Bonnie, Terri, and Bonnies's sister, Diane, at the Alexander Homestead in St. Augustine, Florida. I no longer remember how many times we have visited Bonnie's wonderful and luxurious B & B. We have been returning as often as possible for some years now. The house is... More

My wife and I spent Valentines' Day weekend in St Augustine at Alexander Homestead. The common areas were well done, Bonnie's breakfasts were wonderful, the guests were all pleasant companions. Our room was well furnished, with a private porch outside which made an excellent place to enjoy a champagne toast together even given the chilly evening. Just a few blocks... More

A "getaway" to celebrate a birthday. We enjoy staying at B & B's because they are like being "at home". Bonnie is a wonderful hostess and Terry did whatever it took to make us comfortable. We avoid setting "expectations" and are therefore, pleasantly surprised when something this good comes along.

We had a lovely weekend here in spite of the cold weather. Next time we will come when Mother Nature is being a little kinder. The decorating, warmth , and attention to so many details was wonderful. Bonnie is a most gracious and welcoming hostess. Each and every room has been attended to in such great detail. We loved having... More

We stayed here recently after Christmas and Bonnie (owner) really outdid herself with the decorations and lights. Our room was (I believe) one of 'nicest' and yes, like others wrote, it is located at the bottom of the stairs across from the living room. We were the only guests there but I imagine it would get quite loud if others... More

When arriving at this Bed and Breakfast, I had high hopes. The title "bed and breakfast" sort of implies that those two things would be the specialties of the house, so to speak. Neither was what I would call outstanding for the price. We paid about as much as it would cost per night for a four star hotel for... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Entering the Alexander Homestead through the picturesque front porch from the garden walkway you can hear strains of classical music and spy a small book of Emily Dickinson's poetry in the formal living room - rich with antiques and romance. This is a perfectly appointed inn, with five of the most inviting and romantic bedrooms that hint of lavender sachets and pale hues of vintage opulence.
