Very cool place to stay. It's themed. It's small. Guys that run it are super friendly to kids and adults. I've never stayed anywhere like it. The living room has toys, games, movies, and a couple of computers, so it really is a family room. People staying there are instant friends because of the relaxed environment. My son is 6,...

We loved this place! Fantastic location, Conrad and Chris are super nice and friendly, very professional but fun and easy going! The place is clean and very unique. My friends (all in late 20s early 30s plus a 9 and a 12 year old) had a great time and felt super comfortable. Other guests were nice, coffee was AMAZING and...

We've stayed here several times over the year; just keeps getting better in terms of updates and cleanliness. I'm about to write a fantastic reveiw. But keep in mind, I am not used to staying in 5 star hotels...we pretty much stay in hostels and inexpensive motels. This place is fantastic value for the money...but it ain't the Ritz Carlton...

Thanks for your review! We do actually have free earplugs at the front desk, I just need to note that in the guestbooks in the rooms. We also ask that our guests be considerate to others, but it seems some people just weren't raised that way. If we could somehow limit our bookings to include "You must be considerate of...

I was unsure if I should write this review, for the sheer fact that I would rather “The Pirate Haus” remain the hidden gem of St Augustine’s Historic District. Yet, that would not be fair to the great people of the “Pirate Haus” so here goes… This was my first trip to St Augustine after over 1 year of researching...

Thanks for not keeping the secret! Sorry that your experience at A1A was not better. I usually just eat at the bar downstairs and service is quick and the food good, not awesome, just very good. Well, I'll take that back, the last burger I had was awesome! For an anniversary dinner I might have suggested Collage or something fancier,...

Pirate Haus is fun. We had room 9 which was great. Space enough and the room was clean. It was very quiet in the hotel and it's a very short walk to the city. In the morning we got the famous pancakes (Dutch style) and met Conrad. Admirable that after 9 years he can still pronounce "Inburgeringscursus" . For the...

This was about our 12th visit to St. Augustine, some trips with the kids and some without them. We walked by the Pirate Haus many times on these prior visits but never really gave it a second look. It looks....hostel-ish. And it functions that way in part, with the community kitchen and the living area down the hall with two...

Thanks for your kind review Gobucs, indeed we are usually full up with re-enactors on re-enactment weekends but we had a cancellation or two hence the opening. I myself was camping out at the re-enactment site as I'm one of those in charge at times, so I didn't get to meet you all, though we did get one of our...

...warmer weather? My sister and I visited during one of the coldest weeks St. Augustine had in years. But the Pirate Haus was a perfect place to stay. The location was terrific--near beach, restaurants, shops and museums. Cap'n Conrad pointed out the must see and must eat places in the area, and had good stories for the mateys. One of...

Thank you for your review! If you can visit again anytime in the next 6 months, I personally guarantee warmer weather than you had during your stay!! I'm glad you and your sister were able to have a great time in spite of the thermometer readings, and thank you for choosing us!

My girlfriend and I went looking for a place to stay for a night or two in St. Augustine, Fl. I booked with Pirate Haus for three days and Casa Yahalla for four before leaving. I would not visit Yahalla again it felt like a men's boarding house in a lousy neighborhood. Pirate Haus was so fun. Sandie thanks for your review! I had meant to ask you about how the rest of your stay went.
