Our Christmas vacation was to St Petersburg Florida. We found Fort Desota camp ground on trip advisor. We did not camp here but certainly took advantage of their beautiful beach. There is no better way to spend Christmas day than soaking in the sun on the gorgeous snow white beach. We visited both beaches but the best is the north...

Even though this park is always stuffed it never seems too busy or crowded. Campsites are well organized with plenty of privacy. If you can't get a reservation keep in mind they hold ten percent back and those become available on Friday mornings at 7am eastern time when booked online. Good bathrooms too. No cell service at campsites but can...

There are many low hanging trees and the roads are tight. But they are clear enough for your rig. Sand every where. We had trouble receiving Dish service without a 200' cable. These are not complaints, only warnings. Please don't complain because you thought this was something else. The sites were well shaded. I sit outside most of the time....

Excellent, beautiful camp sites with very clean bathroom and shower facilities(w/hot water). Camped by beach. What an experience for a novice family. Camp site was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of room to park cars and set up tents. Beach was clean and the views were breathtaking. Well maintained bike paths around the island.

Yes this is a nice park, but I do not understand what all the excitement is about? The sites are small and close the roads are narrow. Unless you have a water site forget getting you kayaks in the water with ease, you will have to travel to a boat launch. The rangers are nice and the volunteers are amazing....

We stayed at the campground in August 2016. Thankfully, we had a pop-up camper with air conditioning as Florida weather this time of year is brutally hot. Occasional rain showers and sweltering heat would make tent camping difficult. Of course, the weather is not the fault of the campground. Just be prepared. Overall, the campground was good - bathrooms were...

Had a great visit. JC at the front desk offered great local directions and local suggestions for cuisine. Beach was well taken care of and extremely clean. Great people and great campsite options. Coming back soon.

Another good visit to Fort Desoto Campground. Third year in a row and still a favorite place. We were on the west side of loop one. Not much breeze but still bearable. The kids loved the kayaking and fishing. Ants were all over the place and the raccoons were worse this year.

Beautiful campground Plenty to do if you love the ocean. Pricey but memorable. No sewer but big sites, several pull thru. Has section for tents one for pets and one to handle he largest RV. Beaches close by, even a dog beach. No license to fish from either pier.

A wonderful campground, some sites just for pets, campground store, plentiful shower houses, hot water, clean park even after storms. Friendly staff. Your campground receipt gets you into all 4 beaches for free. Privacy between lots.

Thank Barbara B
