The owners and location are both fantastic!!! We stayed in the Owl House on the river. The accommodations we great the 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms worked well for us. The kitchen was well stocked plates glasses, coffee mugs and coffee. The towels were nice soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash were very nice.

The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean!! All the furniture and furnishings were great!! The Downtown location made everything walkable and we enjoyed walking on the river walk.

I highly recommend this Hotel!! We have booked VBRO in the past and will never do that again this hotel houses, apartments are so well stocked and we enjoy the history that you can read about in the units. We only wished there was a hot tub or pool access but we found out we didn’t need it and had a wonderful time.

We will definitely be back again and again!!

We just happened upon this owner operated small inn right near the Riverwalk in Stuart. We stayed in the studio which had plenty of room for the two of us with a small kitchen, table and chairs and sitting are plus a queen bed in a separate room. It was clean and inviting. There is small bar/restaurant right at that location which was convenient if you do not want to walk anywhere for a quick bite to eat or a cold beer! We would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I needed a getaway for a week end and my sister had told us about Old Colorado Inn, so we decided to check it out. So glad we did. Steven, the owner, welcomed us on arrival and he and his son Christopher gave us a quick tour of the inn. Originally built in 1914, it has not lost any of its old time charm. Beautifully decorated and very cozy. The bed was SO comfortable. We stayed in room 11 which had a tiny kitchenette which totally met all our needs. Water bottles are available for guests in the hallway and complimentary coffee was in the room, and there is also a communal port/patio with comfortable chairs overlooking the street in case you just want to chill outside. The only criticism I have, and it's minor, was the Sneaky Tiki bar was just outside and on weekends the music is a bit loud, but it ended at 10:00 so it was no big deal. We just went down there and drank beer until it was over! When we left the inn, Steven called us on our way home to thank us and ask if everything was all right. Great place...will definitely come again, but this time we want to stay in one of the bigger suites. We heard those are really nice....oh, and I almost forgot, the inn is located in old town Stuart within walking distance of some great restaurants, bars, and cafes as well as souvenir and clothing shopping.

We stayed four nights in the Enchanted Cottage at the Old Colorado Inn and have fallen in love, we are already planning our return trip. The cottage is charming. Ability to cook some meals - including grilling steaks outside - and do laundry was super helpful since we travelled with a baby. Hot tub and pool were wonderfully relaxing. Breakfast on the front porch so peaceful. The on premise restaurants offered great food at very reasonable prices. We cannot wait to get back!!

I highly recommend The Old Colorado Inn! It is located in a great location in Stuart, easy to get to, surrounded by many excellent restaurants, close to the water and in walking distance of everything downtown. They provide reserved parking for guests so you can park your car and forget it, walk everywhere. There is a Tiki Bar attached for food and a night cap. When you arrive Steven and Ashley make you feel so welcome, I felt like family. Everything they do makes you feel so special, they are professional, accommodating and provide local information on food, attractions, where to go and what to do. The inn is meticulously cleaned and the kitchens are ready to go, our room had a full kitchen with a stove and oven, bathrooms stocked as well. I love that you get old fashioned brass room keys.,The beds are super comfortable and cord boxes on the night stand with USB jacks for your electronics, WiFi was strong and fast as well. It’s a great old inn with all the modern conveniences.

At the Old Colorado Inn you are a part of the excitement of downtown Stuart, Florida. We had a suite on the second floor -room 8-which was a premier location. A small full kitchen was a surprise along with a comfy living room and a very comfortable king bed. We enjoyed the porch that ran along the front of the building. Despite staying on New Year’s Eve, the room was very quiet with no noise from the adjacent bars. Another bonus was the proximity to the river walk which is only a short walk from the Inn a definite must see for anyone visiting Stuart. The local tram stop is across the street at Duffy’s, and sandy beaches are less than a 15 minute drive away.

We visited Stuart for the first time last year and stayed in the Oasis Suite. We love the town and the Inn so much that I told my husband that I wanted to go back and stay there for a week to celebrate by 65th Birthday. This time I wanted the Owl House so we would have full views of the St. Lucie River from several rooms in the house as well as from the comfortable Adirondack chairs in the lawn. And that's what we did.

Everything was immaculate and well maintained like our first visit. The owners, Steve and Ashley, are perfect hosts and are willing to do whatever they can to make your stay an enjoyable one. Their housekeepers are extremely friendly and will provide any needed supplies for your suite.

Of course, the entire Inn could not be in a better location as it is within walking distance to the bars, shops and restaurants. Since it was a week to celebrate, it was nice to enjoy several upscale dinners with before dinner drinks and wine with dinner and be able to leave the car parked at the Inn and walk home in 5 - 10 minutes as we are always careful about drinking and driving.

If you are coming to Stuart, there is no better place to stay than the Old Colorado Inn. Since they offer so many different types, sizes and locations of rooms and suites, if you have specific things you look for in lodging, I am sure if you call them they would be more than happy to help you find just the right one for you.

My friends and I have done many day trips to Stuart, Florida. It is such a cute little town with many shops, restaurants and bars. We decided to do an overnight so that we could do more things and after asking a local friend where to stay, she said we had to stay at the Old Colorado Inn. We had driven past the inn many times but really didn't think much about it. After taking her advice, we stayed in the Grande Suite which is in the Ernest Lyons House. This home was amazing! It was beautifully decorated, full of natural light and had a great view of the lawn and pool behind. The king bedroom is to die for with the working fireplace and tall ceilings with wood beams. The pictures do not do it justice. We had such a great time staying in the Grande Suite and are making plans to visit again and rent the entire house so we can bring more people. The owners were available for anything we needed and easy to get ahold of at any time of the day. If you are planning a trip to Stuart, FL, staying at the Colorado Inn is a must!

Dear Steve,

Thank you for all you did in making our trip a wonderful experience!

We had the opportunity to stay for an entire week at the Old Colorado Inn and what a fun filled week it was. Beautiful and well kept historic Hotel offering a great and festive stay, great maid services, festive music from next door. One can walk everywhere in town, shops, restaurants, museums, walking the waterfront dock path – offering a unique cultural experience with Maritime flavor! Stuart is a wonderful town.
Remember to ask the owner Steve & Ashley to show the Hugh Mural (painting) that his son is doing on the side of a entire building next store (beautiful). We went to the ocean twice - for long walks and swimming in the Atlantic. We sat on the outside deck almost every night with wine and Hors-d’oeuvres while listening to live music below and watching the sun set. The owners wife Ashley has divine favor on her side, she has 7 children. Its a family business! We had so much fun there - we were heading back to the ocean for another walk, coincidentally we ran into Steven the owner of the Inn who reminded us it was checkout day. We completely lost track of time because of the wonderful experience we had there at the Old Colorado Inn! Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll be back!

We had such a festive experience there we sent our son there for his Honeymoon with his new wife, making a reservation for a one room suite for the two newlyweds. Steve the owner was grateful to see us book the Old Colorado Inn once again, and said he’d take care of us. When our son his wife arrived, Steve gave (upgraded) them to an entire private guest house to stay and celebrate their marriage “at no extra charge” we were all quite amazed at this enormous kind offering. It’s why we’ll always return to The Old Colorado Inn. We’ve never experienced such warm and kind hospitality. They really do exceed the standards of hospitality. A giving family! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

A 6 Star Stay!

Awesome location downtown, great staff and overall just a cool place to stay. We stayed in the Sailfish room which was incredible and the walking access to downtown and all of the places to eat on the water really made the stay. And the tiki bar next door was a bonus! We will definitely be back.
