3/13/2018 Update: The photos posted by J. Ortiz on Google appear to be from the actual room I stayed in. (#31) I did not take photos because I was embarrassed to show anyone the pit I stayed in. His comments are real and accurate. I agree,... It would have been much better to sleep in our rental car! This review is from a stay at the Royal Palms Motel in March 2018. The only reason I gave them 1-star is because 0-stars is not available. Also, the day & night managers were nice people. That said, DO NOT STAY HERE! It is not worth the savings you might experience. Our "room" was over $100 per night and it was definitely not worth that much. We checked in here thinking if it was really bad, we could leave and go someplace else. However, the night manager made us pay for our entire stay (5 nights) up front, and there are NO refunds allowed. Calling the Royal Palms Motel a "Dive" would be a complement. The first impression of our room (#31) was that it was very old and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. (NOTE: It was a non-smoking room) I really could go on for a very long time, but for the sake of brevity I will just repeat, DO NOT STAY HERE! If you want more details, please see my summary of the major issues below. * It was evident this room had not been remodeled in decades. Everything was very old and mostly in disrepair. Old wires were stapled to the walls and had many layers of paint covering them * Noise from the AC unit, neighbors, road traffic and the refrigerator made sleep nearly impossible * The frame of the only window was covered in black mold. The screen was also bent and damaged badly. The window only opened with a great deal of effort * The shades on the window were non-functional * The door had large weather stripping gaps and had no way to prop it open for ventilation * There were only 4 hangers in what functioned as a closet. 2 of those were old, rusty wire hangers. The other 2 were old, broken suit hangers * The air conditioner was very loud and only worked sporadically * The refridgerator was also exceptionally loud, but did function * There was a stove in the kitchenette, but we were not allowed to use it because we were there for less than a week. Also, 1 of the 4 burners was missing. * The bed had holes in the mattress and box springs, and threadbare sheets that looked decades old. The sheets were not cleaned in our entire 5-night stay. There were no blankets on the bed or in the room. We had a very old sheet, and a comforter that looked like it came from the 80's. * The carpet in the room was filthy. Walking on the floor without shoes turned your socks or feet black * No ice maker in the room or in the entire complex. We had to go to the office and request a couple trays of ice at a time from the manager. They were very accommodating when asked. * The bathroom was so small, dirty and decrepit it was almost unusable. We were only given 1 roll of TP at a time and could not receive another until the first was gone. We were only given a new, small bar of soap once in our 5 night stay * Ancient, rusty fixtures in the bathroom and the light over the sink had 3 different rusty light bulbs * Hot water took 5 or more minutes to arrive in the bathroom sink. (Unless you turned on the shower first) * The shower had no lighting at all and a rusty and broken ceiling. BEWARE if you are in the shower when someone flushes the toilet. You will be scalded. * Room service was provided by a non-English speaking lady. She only replaced towels if you returned the used one and never changed the bed sheets. She did not clean the kitchenette or the bathroom in our entire stay. * The only positive was that I did not see any live insects in our room. Dead ones, yes, but none alive. After all, this was southern Florida. * Overall, it was as far from satisfactory as Heaven is from Hell…

We know that you are trying to provide maximum negative information here by pasting someone else contents for whatever reason. First of all, you made a reservation for 5 nights that is the reason you paid in advance for those 5 nights. Our all the a/c are less than 3 years old and none of our a/c are noisy at all. They are all either GE/Amana commercial grade a/c's. They are known for quiet running. The shades in the window were nonfunctional because you tied a metal hanger to it for some reason and made it non functional. The refrigerator is also very quiet. You were leaving the rooms door open (with a/c running)and walking in and out of the room barefoot. This action makes your foot dirty and not the carpet. If you needed more hangers, you could have ask for it and we could have gladly provide you extra hangers. All the rooms are having Blankets in the Dresser drawer and same with your rooms too. The bed/Mattress does not have any holes at all. If you needed more toilet paper or towels for collections, you could have ask for it as well. It is our policy, that when guests are in the room, for privacy reasons, we provide the service that they only ask for. If the bed has personal belongings on it, the cleaning staff are not allowed to touch it for security reasons. Anything you needed extra, you could have ask for it and we could have provided you just like we didn't charge you anything for wifi, where as there is a charge for it -that shows on your reservation as well. I am not sure what kind of fun you are getting by misguiding people and provide false information.

Spring getaways and heavier demand had local hotels inflating their room rates and not honoring their advertised seasonal prices. We were happy to find a friendly manager who showed the room first. Although $99 was high for a no frills old style motel, the room was clean though needing some attention to maintenance in the shower area. We slept surprisingly well on very basic mattresses that seemed too springey at first impression. The room had a stove and refrigerator but no microwave nor coffee maker. It is convenient to the "Confusion Corner" renewed old Downtown Stuart area which has free parking, great restaurants and shoppes. Would stay again if saving significantly over other local hotels.

While the location is close to downtown, there is plenty of free parking. I recommend staying elsewhere for the price (I paid $125 including tax). First, the room was very dated and musty. The linens were clean, but the room was not. It definitely needed a wiping down. The furniture was stained, the shower floor was dingy, the bathroom was dingy, the motel room door didn't shut properly, There was no phone, no alarm clock, no coffee maker, and the tv was tiny and old. Mike, the owner, was super nice and did get me an alarm clock when asked. However, for the money, I still recommend staying elsewhere. Did not feel the value.

Thank you for your comments. Please note that in the coming months, we are in planning of having some renovations done. We already have LED TV's in some rooms and in near future all the rooms will be equipped with a new TV. We love to provide clean rooms with a friendly service. For Phones, most of the people carry cell phones and that is the reason we do not have phones in the rooms. More people abuse it more than they use it and that is the reason, we have removed phones and alarm clocks from all the rooms but it is still available upon request. Thank you for your business.

This is a nice family motel. Clean and just what we needed for an over night trip. It's not one of the fancy places, but it's clean and that's all that matters sometimes. The manager was very nice and showed me the rooms before we checked in.

We picked this because it was a good price and it had 3 good reviews in recent months. We got what was probably one of their best rooms because my husband mentioned he was friends with one of the Commissioners when he was checking in. It was adequate at best - kind of musty smelling. Sort of clean but nothing to brag about. If we had not been so far from home we would have not stayed over night

Hi Karen, Thank you for your comments. Please note that Florida's tropical weather and humidity plays a big role for the interior as well as exteriors of most structures. Also, we treat all our customers equally and we have different kinds of setup to offer with the variation in room rate. I would apprecaite if you can give us a chance to provide accomodation whenever you are visiting the area and we promise that you will have the best experience.

We needed a place to rest before a long drive home meaning we were there for less than 9 hours. The room was clean, had a frig, nice shower....the staff was very friendly. Definitely old style Florida and inexpensive. No frills, just comfy and clean.

Needed a cheap place to stay one night in Stuart Florida, found the Royal Palms Motel on Hotels.com. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and actually waited for me to arrive for my late check in, around midnight. This motel isn't upscale by any means, if you bring any preconceived notions of staying at a Hilton, you'll be disappointed. It's your typical Florida, near the water, motel. Everything worked, the room was clean and quiet and there weren't any bugs in the room. For what I needed, this place fit the bill perfectly.

The cleaner does wonders with what she has to work with, the rooms are dated with rust in the shower, you will always get a room because I can't believe anyone would stay there twice. I tried to pull the blind up and the plastic snapped it was so brittle you could break it with two fingers, so that was the deposit gone, he tried to tell me that the blinds were only six months old I think he's getting years and months mixed up! and when I said that we hadn't abused it and it was just weak he started to get aggressive, at this time I thought it was better to leave, and let him live with his conscience. I would advise anybody to stay half a mile down the street at the best western, they will also accept dogs. unlike other hotels I have stayed at were they give you the price including tax, this one doesn't so at the time when he gives you the price it seams a good but that isn't what you end up paying.…

The cottage that this customer stayed in for an entire week without any complaints/concerns was completely renovated recently. Our property is an OLD Florida style motel and is "DATED" in that respect from outside but the interiors have been recently renovated. It should be noted that the customer inspected the room before renting it for a week. They walked thro' the day before and again prior to checking in. They had claimed that they had a small dog when, in fact, it was a very large dog (100+ Lbs.). Upon seeing the dog, the Manager informed them that the dog was too large to stay at out motel. This customer and his wife literally "BEGGED" to let them stay as they could find NO other place that would take them. Feeling bad for them, and against his better judgement, the Manager relented, allowing them to rent the room. When prices are quoted, the taxes are rarely included unless specifically requested. They were told the price at least twice before checking in. Any problems with the price should have been voiced then. We charge for the room at check-in, so there was no hidden aspect to any additional charges being added at a later time, without their knowledge. The customer mentions that the security deposit (of only $50.00) was lost simply because of the broken blinds. In actuality, the deposit was lost due to the condition the room was left in, specifically, damage to the paint and walls in the room due to the extremely large (100+ Lbs.) dog and its large cage. The room was also left in a very messy state requiring costly additional cleaning and repairs. It was a mistake on our part that we allowed them to stay against our policy with an extremely large pet.

I stayed for little over a month at this place. I enjoyed every single day. The room I was in was nice and clean. The price I paid was reasonable. Cleaning staff was also very helpful by keeping my room service the way I wanted since I am little on a picky side. Overall, no complaint. I will stay here again whenever in the area.
