We really enjoyed our stay at Sugarloaf Lodge. Nice room, nice view, nice people. Nice to stay where it was quiet, but still able to get to Key west easily on the bus and not have to worry with car parking etc.
We stayed two nights at the Lodge in a room with sliding glass doors overlooking Florida Bay. Nice breeze and wonderful view. Restaurants a short distance away.

It's 13 miles to Key West and 17 miles to Duval St. Taxis are available yet expensive around $50. There is a shutlle bus which picks up people in front of the hotel and stops at Duval for $5. The last bus leaves Key West around midnight. However I would recommend bringing a car if you are staying at our hotel as we are not within walking distance of many attractions.
