We took a short trip to the Keys and were looking for someplace near Key West to spend a couple of nights. Sugarloaf Lodge filled the bill perfectly. We were in a large room on the second floor. All rooms have a great view. The Tiki Bar is fun and is popular with the locals. There is a pizza restaurant...

Booked my stay here last minute and arrived late. Was pleasantly surprised to see the office stayed open for me. Registration was a hand shake and a "we will settle up tomorrow, go get some rest." My room was comfortable. Dated (to the point of probably being retro cool) but well appointed and comfortable. Quiet and nice location with close...

The lodge is dated but it is acceptable for a night or two. I checked in on a Sunday for $120 plus tax and on Monday due to a commitment I opted to stay one more night and was charged $160 plus tax??? I don't get the rate structure but the room is not worth $160. The on premise restaurant...

I don't know how to describe this place and why I felt immediately at home here. First of all location is convenient next to Key West. All rooms have sea view and the building isn't right next to the highway so the traffic doesn't bother. Our room is on the 2nd fl and decorated on the 60's style, even the...

If you're not wanting to drop a bundle and stay a short time - this is the place. Great location only 17 miles to Key West. (be careful after having adult beverages and driving back to Sugarloaf) There's a tiki bar and restaurant on premises giving you no excuse to leave if you're just looking to kick back a couple...

A stay in Key West can be pricey especially in the Winter. Sugarloaf Lodge offers some relief from the premium prices of staying in Key West proper. It was about 20 minutes to Key West, probably saved near $100 per night. Hotel is easy to find, some may feel the rooms are dated, for me it has a cool retro feel,...

I reserved the Sugarloaf for my mother the week we were going to the keys because we were camping on the island and honestly at the time this was the only option for her. She loves it. The staff is SO friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere has a super old fashioned island tiki vibe to it, and it's in a...

Out for a motorcycle ride on New Years day. Stopped in to check out the tiki bar. It was hidden behind the lodge. There was a pizza shop at the lodge. The tiki bar had a nice view. The bartender was friendly and a few other quests were enjoying the day. Drinks were cheap.

We had a room on the ground floor with 2 double tiny, uncomfortable beds. The room was outdated. It did have a nice view when u stepped out at the back of the room. It is about 25 minutes drive from key west.

Yes, the decor and architecture is from the 60s, but that is the charm. The only problem with the 60s is there weren't enough outlets back then. Clean with comfortable beds and pillows and you can't beat the price!

Sugarloaf Logde is a family run, 31 unit waterfront resort in the Florida Keys 13 miles from Key West. All of our rooms face the water with sunset views and if you have a boat you can park it behind your room. The lodge has a Tiki Bar, marina, pool, tennis courts, and airstrip.
