I stayed at Gram's Place for 6 nights for Big Guava Fest and it was incredible! The owner Bruce and manager Christine are wonderful people - so accommodating and friendly, their hospitality made our stay wonderful! Some of the locals that would also come and hang out at the place were also really friendly. It's a great spot to meet...

Lavinia, We were so glad to have you guys here! The whole group that stayed with us during the Guava Fest was a fun mix of people from all over the world. Even though I'm unfortunately old enough to be most of your guys' mother, I couldn't help but feel in my 20's again with you guys around. It's guest's...

I had the most amazing time here. Everything from the decor (eccentric and cozy) to the vibe (chill and laid-back) and the people (friendly, fun, and super interesting) are so my cup of tea! That said, not unlike anything else, it isn't for everybody. If you're laid-back, like to socialize with people from all walks of live, and love music,...

You guys were fabulous guests and Bruce and always look forward to hosting the likes of you. The entire group of guests that we had that week blended well with one another and reminds me of that old saying, "We are all part of the same family"...it is true. Thanks for choosing us--House Mum Christine

I have often stayed at Gram's Place, spent time at the frequent barbecues and played loads of music there. It is an all around safe haven for travel in the heart of Tampa. There are several private rooms for the crowd like me that enjoys privacy. If you want to Hostel it, that possibility exists although I have never stayed...

I am a University student and I have never stayed in a Hostel before, so upon arriving at Gram's Place I had extremely low expectations and an enormous amount of anxiety about my stay. However, I was severely mistaken! Gram's Place is eclectic (with brightly colored rooms and collected decor) and it reminds me of Key West. Despite its uniqueness,...

We always appreciate the guests who see the quirkiness of our inn as a positive. Hosteling isn't for everybody but, in my experience, it is the most intriguingly fun people who make hostels what they are. Bruce and I are happy to have exceeded your expectations, but we can only take a portion of the credit for the positive experience...

This place is a wonderful escape from the noise of life for people with an adventurous free bohemian spirit. An old rugged yet clean and well cared for charm exists here that is unreplicatable. This is a bed and breakfast kind of hostel more commonly found abroad that will feel more like a home when you leave. A nice mixture...

I went to Tampa for a conference, and Gram's was suggested by some fellow attendees who also prefer real people and something creative, instead of big hotels. It fit the descriptions from the moment I walked in, and the real people were a good find. Now, it's a counterculture hostel, and for the cruise-taking big beige hotel tourist it would...

I searched for backpacker hostels in Tampa area and read the great reviews of this place so thought we'd check it out, am traveling with my dad. The only room available was a mixed dorm room so we took that. Having stayed in many backpacker hostels across the world, some great, some not so this definitely falls into the not...

Gram's Place is an awesome experience by itself. Bruce and his staff were super friendly and went way beyond any normal hostel service. Bruce gave lots of great travel tips for seeing the city and avoiding traffic problems for the Buccaneers/Ravens game. He also loaned out his bicycles for a bike ride around the Riverwalk. The hostel was very laid...

My wife and I recently stayed here for two nights while we were in town for the Sunset Music festival. To be honest we were almost put off by the neighborhood it was located in at first but were more than happy with our lodging decision once we got inside. This place is a very chill, very cool, very hip...

Our Requirements: Budget friendly, private bath, clean & bug free room. Requirements were all met. This place is a flashback to the late 60's. Lived through it once and wasn't prepared for what we found. Yes, Gram's Place is like visit to Haight-Ashbury during the Summer of Love. It is a friendly, somewhat cluttered place and makes you feel a...
