We checked in and made the mistake of paying for two nights before seeing the room. The room was so dirty and in such poor condition, we could not stay. Asked for a refund of the second night. Refused.
Grim looking rooms, hotel appears to be lived in by various homeless people. Amazing such a run down property survives in such a nice apparently affluent area. No breakfast offered , but to be honest you wouldnt want to stay longer than you had to. Bathroom a bit bizarre with a dining chair and a full size lampstand in there, as well as a makeshift clothes rail (no wardrobe in the room).
I paid $650 for 1 week, room was nasty , internet does not work, no towels, no wash cloths, they came into my room while I was at work and turned air off.. my Boston terriers we’re almost stroking out by the time I got back from work..I cleaned the room , there’s holes in the floor.. wtf
Do not stay at this place it’s the dirtiest place I’ve ever seen . I had slipper socks on in the room within one hour of walking around they looked like I stepped in tar. Bathroom has no exhaust it was moldy smell. No towel exchange no one explained we had to get them ourselves. There were people constantly out hanging around outside at the railings. It was like a nightmare. You are warned.
We had ALL the experiences all the other 1 star raters gave it. I kept looking for bugs. The ONLY reason we stayed...we desperately needed to get some sleep after traveling all day. The only light fixture was overhead, missing 1 of 2 light bulbs & the fixture cover has NEVER been cleaned. We slept with our suitcases & shoes on the bed so nothing would get in them. We did not take showers in the a.m. We just got out as fast as we could. MANY undesirable people staying as well. DO NOT STAY HERE EVER !!! The woman would not give us another room unless we paid more even though we had already paid $84. We, too, had to go back to get toilet paper from the little window.
One of the worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in! Old and needed to be painted! Bar missing to hang clothes. Slats missing from verticals blinds and you could see me in bed from outside! No lamps! No plug between beds to charge your phone. No toiletries in bathroom. We had to go to office and ask. Disgusting! Can’t wait till we can leave in the morning. If we didn’t get in so late, we wouldn’t have stayed!
I called and asked if they had a ground floor room. The man that answered said yes. When I got there, a woman that I spoke to through a very small window, said the man who answered made a mistake. No ground floor room. I said ok and started walking back to the car. This woman then says "wait, I think I found a ground floor room." I walked back, paid for 2 nights with my credit card. She told me our room was BEHIND the motel we were standing in front of. We went on the next street to find our room. This row of rooms looked NOTHING like the ones in the original building, facing the road. There was paint off the door and walls inside, cracks, very dimly lit. There appeared to be people out front who rent long term. We return to the front "window" and said we could not stay there. The man said "you own me for one night". I said WHAT? he said "you were gone more than 15 minutes, now you own me for one night." I see they have done this to countless other people that have reviewed here. That's highway robbery! I encourage anyone who gets ripped off by the filthy place to FILE A DISPUTE with your credit card! They can not run a business like this!!!…
My husband and I were here a few years ago while they were under construction. This time everything seems mostly completed. Fresh paint and repair is evident everywhere. It is a simple lodging in a really cool neighborhood with a park where you can often see manatees. The Christmas lights were great. A short drive takes you yo a beach for sunset. The sponge docks are nearby and the cute town is walking distance. Those who gave bad ratings were obviously hoping for Marriott at Motel 6 prices. The owners are a family trying their best. The teenage son checked us in. The room was definitely clean. My biggest suggestion would be brighter colored curtains, bed cover and a few pictures. I think that would help reviews
Do not go by the google reviews they are false! We stayed here and as soon as we walked in we regretted it. First, the long term folks watch your every move and act like they own the place, it provides a sense that if you leave for awhile you are going to get ripped off. There was a huge gap in the closed door for insects to come and go freely. There were body fluids on the walls, mold everywhere. We had 2 pillows that were paper thin. The fan did not work, there was no phone in the room. The tub was filthy as were the floors. The walls and hair dyer had human hair all over them. The mirror was broken and a hazard. There was actually blood in the walls!! We asked for a different room and were denied they were booked. The final straw was when our bed broke. At 1130 pm we packed our bags and checked out. The lady then offered us another room, apparently there was a vacancy. She did not want to refund us even though we had only been there less than 6 hrs. It wasn't until I threatened to dispute the charges did she refund our money. I will be filing a complaint with the division of hotels and restraurants. The place is a health hazard with the mold and lack of sanitizing of the rooms during a pandemic and just in general. No idea how they have any decent reviews unless they are writing them themselves or somehow paying people to write them.…
