Located at one of Florida's only inland seaplane basins, where pilots like to stop in, enjoy the entertainment, and often spend the night before the next day's adventures. Jet skis are available for rental, as well as boat rentals (temporarily suspended until dock reconstruction is completed). There is a Paddleboat, the Dora Queen, which has lake cruises in the evenings and weekends.. Live entertainment is common on the weekends on the waterfront at Puddle Jumpers (restaurant and bar) and Kahlua Beach Bar (bar with limited menu). On site are the Tiki West Raw Bar and Grille, Nautilus Coffee Shop, Argonaut Bar and Lounge , as well as the Doghouse Sports Bar, and Hemingway's Cigar Bar. Classic Boat Racing, Antique Car Shows, Sailing Regattas, and Jet Ski Tournaments are common events on Lake Dora in Tavares, as well as the famous Arts and Antiques Festivals in Mt. Dora. The Downtown Tavares area is an Entertainment District, where patrons are allowed to stroll (with the adult beverages of their choice) to visit the many shops, museums, and restaurants and bars. The Hotel is located only two blocks from the Lake County Courthouse in Tavares, Florida. *Your room rate includes continental breakfast.

We hosted my birthday party concert fundraiser, Rock Stars for Lake Cares, in April 2022 at the Key West Resort on Lake Dora. The rooftop event space was perfect! Sam, Sydney, Alex and the maintenance team were responsive and helpful. Our guests loved the lake and sunset views from the rooftop. We were able to extend a blocked room rate to our guests, which was nice. The band had access to electrical outlets and all went well from a sound standpoint. We had several guests stay at the resort and they were happy with the accommodations. They have a pool with a lake view and a restaurant, The Dog House, on the property, which is great. Our catering and event team said everything went smoothly, and the guests are still talking about this wonderful venue and how much fun they had at the event!…

Came to Key West Resort at LAKE Dora for business and stayed in one of the 2-bedroom suites. It was spacious and comfortable . Jana was welcoming, kind, and provided great food recommendations. Will definitely come back.

Stayed at this resort for 3 nights while training for a sea plane rating. It’s clean, comfortable and near restaurants within walking distance. Although it’s an older property, it’s well cared for with tile floors and large bathrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended and rates are very reasonable.

As a regular visitor, I am always impressed with the service that Sydnee provides at the front desk. On this trip, I learned that Anna is responsible for all the training which I find exceptional for all the employees I encounter during my stays. On this occasion, I requested additional coffee packages late in the afternoon to use the next morning. I was Valentina, who handled my request and even took the time to follow-up to ensure my coffee packages where received since she had to place them outside my room door. t find these actions exemplifies the commitment to customer service that Key West Resort provides and makes me continually want to return to that property. Thank you Sydnee, Anna and especially Valentina. I will be back!

Terrible, it’s hard to know where to start. We were put in a dirty room with stains on sheets and chairs/couches. The bed had no headboard with dirt on the wall where the pillows were laying against, they moved us after a complaint. As we walked into new room we literally stated “well it’s not as dirty as the last”. Most of the wedding attendees had something negative to say about this place. Furniture is torn up, stains on curtains. I hope you enjoy sleeping hot because the AC doesn’t get cold. The floors felt like it had a layer of film on it. This place felt more like a Motel than a “resort”. The restaurants around the area are about the only good thing to mention here. The furniture is mismatched like they went to a bunch of local yard sales and combined them.. I would strongly recommend to just make the 15 minute drive to stay somewhere else.…

This was a motel style motel that allowed dogs which I appreciated. The floors in the room were filthy. The door key didn’t work. The dead bolt was loose on the door. The pillows left me with a kink in my neck. On a positive note, it was in a location near several hotels, had a nice path to walk along the lake. The pool looked nice, but the weather wasn’t good for swimming. The area was a bit strange with the prison, courthouse, many bond nails man and lawyers along with the sheriff office all around the motel. There was a sink and mini fridge but no dish soap.

I spent two nights there with my adult daughter and it was wonderful! Room was spotless and spacious..We had a double queen room with a balcony and there was plenty of space between the beds as well as a kitchenette type counter with a sink, microwave and fridge and space on the countertop for a coffee maker. We enjoyed the lake view from the balcony and the proximity to restaurants etc. There is a free laundry for guests and a very good assortment for breakfast....bagels, pastries, cereals and assorted frozen breakfast sandwiches. Had a great time and will be back everytime we are in the area!!

Don’t normally mind some things but this deserved a list! Holes in sheets and towels Black mold on ceiling around ac vent Known leak under bathroom sink(a kitchen pot was placed under) Cushions on dining room chairs hadn’t been vacuumed in months Flooring torn up under bay window Silverware was put away dirty! Large clump of hair on shower floor drain We have stayed before for the sunny land boat show, it’s really sad when it just takes a thorough cleaning crew.
