The bed was terrible and the room was not cleaned. The bed was not made and towels were not changed. The landlady was definitely not a sunshine. However the Cuban restaurant nextdoor was superb as well at diinner as at brekfast!
Its on the Main Rd, difficult to find, can't see the sign. Also building is NOT yellow, as it shows online, it is pink. Office smells of mold & mildew, room did not. Parking is 1st come, 1st serve, not enough spaces for rooms. They...More
Stayed here only 1 night just passing through. It was not super clean but not as filthy as some other reviews. I would say passable on the cleanliness for a short stay. However it is close to the highway and at night large trucks really...More
Our stay was one night, January 2, 2013 (my worst birthday experience ever) on the way to Key West.....should have kept driving. When we pulled up there was garbage and dirty laundry lying everywhere. What a first impression! We were sitting in the parking lot...More
We just stayed there and we wished we didn't. Believe me, all the poor reviews on this page are accurate. No housecleaning, no night clerk, no bathroom ammenities, no drinking glasses, no coffee maker, found some old shoes and a baby bottle under the bed....More

I am a single man traveling to Keys in April. Not sure when I will arrive, probably 16th or 17th. Any problem finding a room for about three nights or more?
When does 'off" season begin? I want to relocate so I need time to explore without paying in season rates.

Typically the winter months (December - March) are considered the tourist season, but in the Keys you never know because the weather is always so wonderful. Best advise go on line to find hotels/motels where you want to stay and check the rates now. AVOID the Tavenier Inn at all costs it is a smelly dump - I walked in the room, walked back out and LEFT, paid $117 for 1 night there (which I never got back) had to go down the road to find a room (very nice though at the Bay Harbor Lodge but the room cost $208.13 for 1 night). Best advise research places, prices and reviews NOW.
