We happened on this little jewel just a few weeks ago and let me tell you, what a wonderful surprise!! The new owners are incredible! The staff, Michelle and Audrey are amazing! The rooms are remodeled and so light and airy with a modern twist. The pool is heated and fantastic plus you are right across the beach!! Walking distance to John's pass! Lucky are we to have found this little slice of paradise!

I know this place has bad reviews and from what I hear rightfully so. We decided to go on a last minute trip to florida and called the Ebb Tide and I am glad we did. The lady that answered couldn't have been more helpful. She explained there was a new owner and he is currently updating and renovating Room #10. She said she would go down and check with him to see if it will be ready in time for our arrival. He said it will be so we booked it bc she sounded so helpful.
When we arrived we were not disappointed, the room was updated and could not have been cleaner. The bathroom still needs updating but we were told that is next on the list. They just ran our of time before our arrival. The pool was fantastic and was kept at 80 degrees everyday, which was great because we had a couple colder days during our stay.The grounds were kept very clean. Also directly across the street is the beach.
The regulars to this motel are fantastic as well and they made my family feel right at home. They could not have been nicer to me, my wife and my 2 kids. They were very excited about the new owner and his dedication to bringing this motel back up to date.
This motel certainly needs a lot of work in places, but everyday that we were there we seen the owner and his tradesman working on something. So in my opinion , I would disregard previous bad reviews and look forward to an enjoyable stay.

Good location for walking.
Small motel which was nice.
Room was small but clean. Nothing fancy. Needs some more updating. Also needs light blocking curtains for front window & door in addition to miniblinds. I was glad I brought 33gal black trash bags to hang up to block out exterior light at nite.
Pool was clean. AC worked well. Plenty of hot water & good water pressure.
My issue was all the smokers. All areas outside & around pool were smoking. It was either smelling the smoke from someone smoking or the ashtrays.

I booked this for my son for the night. I had picked up the key when I paid for the room and dropped him off in the evening after his flight had arrived. There was no toilet paper or soap. The next day when I asked for some type of credit since there wasn't even an empty roll on the toilet paper holder I was told there was an emergency telephone number on the door that he should have called. OK to us an emergency number is for a robbery or fire. Obviously learned what they consider an emergency entails. I'll never use that hotel again and would suggest unless you fly in with soap and toilet paper you shouldn't either!

My old best boss and I decided to stay here a few months ago, thinkng that the price was pretty neat and that some flaws could be ignored due that.
Well, the room we got had only one bed (weird right off the bat) and they claimed it couldn't be fixed or changed in any way. Oh well, one of us had to sleep on the couch was the thought, no big deal in the end. The room is beyond outdated, I'm 26 and majority of the appliances were quite a bit older, the fridge didn't work, nor did the AC. The blinds were destroyed and barely covered half the window, a window that is located right next to the only bed, leaving the entire area exposed to whoever walked past outside. The staff shrugged their shoulders when we asked about the refrigerator, not caring a bit which was quite infuriating.
The first day passes, and goes into night. My boss and I are enjoying a few beers outside of our room, when two younger men who also stays at the hotel approaches us, sits down despite us asking them to leave us alone. Eventually, one of the two starts touching me in the most uncomfortable of ways, despite me saying no and he didn't stop until my boss yelled at him. Turns out that the guy who did it is the son of the main cleaning lady of the place. We tried talking to the manager and the owner, both claimed nothing wrong had been done, and then proceeded to mock me for being a 'weak' person allowing someone to do that to me, also claiming my boss was a coward for not hitting her son. "I bet you feel like a big man now" was the exact words out of her mouth when we asked for a refund for the remaining six days that we intended to stay. There are so many details to this story that it is crazy, but the bottom line is; DONT EVER GO HERE UNLESS YOURE HOMELESS. they are careless, rude, and plain horrible. The places down the street are cheaper, classier and far more equipped, with wonderful staff that cares.

The information in this review is not at all true. The lady and man inquired about a room and they were shown the room prior to renting it. It is not at all weird to have one queen bed in a room. The room also had a love seat not a couch that an adult could sleep on being no big deal. The love seat is also a single sleeper sofa which was not used. The window had a blind on it and there was a broken slat after they left. The a/c and refrigerator did work, at that time they were dated but they worked. Not one of the problems were brought to anyone's attention until they wanted to leave. I can not comment on the behavior of the 2 young men because i was not there. We no longer rent to anyone under 25. I am the manager and owner and i NEVER have mocked or would never say anything like that to a person EVER!! That is a flat out LIE!! They did also receive a refund because i did not know what happened with the young men and we want our guest to be happy and enjoy their stay. The refund was based on the possible situation with you young men, no other complaints were brought to our attention.

we didn't have a choice where to stay,everything was booked solid, old dated rooms, ac barely worked, old sheets, loud couple fought all night, roach's ran across stove top.also too many drunks, but the owners were nice and the pool was ok and the location was great, beach access directly across the street. Will not go back . This is our first time staying there and our last.

THE GOOD: location, cleanliness, spacious, affordable, beach nearby, outdoor pool.

I really like this little motel. Location, location, location!!! The beach is a short walk across the street, and there is a crosswalk right in front of the motel. Everything is within walking distance. An ice cream shop right across the street, a coffee shop a few blocks away, and restaurants all around. Ebb Tide has all the necessities - beds, cable tv, internet, air conditioning, kitchenettes, and a nice pool. Most rooms are poolside. The motel is nothing fancy, but it’s nice, and all at an affordable price. I personally like the small motel vibe. I like getting to know my neighbors, and hangout by the pool with them.

just finished a 1 week stay with my wife in room 5,wow it was great the room is pool front and has everything that we needed. pool was warm and very clean grounds were spotless and very quiet bed was comfortable and the a c worked great walking distance to johns pass and just across from a great beach only let down was the walk to the beach too much of a walk across the sand to get to the water. ebb tide is worth the money and it is far cheaper than a lot of other places

We have been to the ebbtide for about 8 times in the last 19 years, we have seen owners come and go. Last visit was during 10 days in December 2014. We like the place because it's a little motel with a nice lay out, a few apartments arround the pool, near the beach, John pass and you get an appartment with a seperate bedroom for a good price. Jim and Brenda, the new and very adorable and lovely owners, are the first ones in all those years whom gonna invest to renovate all the rooms and make it into a modern complex , instead of all the old fashioned furnishing and walls, that's been arround there for at least 19 years!! We love you guys for seeing the potientials and love the place like we do. You made us feel so welcome. You both work so hard to make it a better place. We feld so welcome and nothing we asked was to much for you guys. Can't wait to see pictures of the complete renovation. The place is worth it! As soon as we can afford the trip and the dollar rates we will be coming over again. Bruce and Brenda from the Netherlands
