I stayed at the Bilmar for the first time last week. I went alone for some R&R and it was perfect. Gulf Front room was outstanding and the location was gorgeous, w/o costing a tremendous amount of money! Since I was traveling alone, I wanted to stay somewhere that had food/drinks

Great location, right on the beach. It’s an older resort, but the staff is very friendly and really seems to work hard to keep it clean. The breakfast at the cafe wasn’t anything special, I’d recommend leaving the resort for some cheaper/better food. Sloppy Joes had pretty dec

UNLIKE Kissimmee (where I'm from) where hotels have sad, sorry old furniture, bug infestations traveling from hotel to hotel due to the lack of local available housing, sketchy business going on behind closed doors (and outside in the parking lot), and astronomical "resort fees"

We stayed at the Bil Mar for 3 nights recently and found the location excellent, walk to everything. From check in to our gulf side room, where we could walk right out on the beach, everything was great. The staff was top notch and the facilities very well run and clean. There wa

We are staying at the Bilmar the second week of January. I called to see what room they had us in and they said they could not answer that but would put my recommendation in. We have a Deluxe Studio Room with a balcony in the Palms Building. What floor or room number would you say is the best to stay in?
Many guests enjoy the higher floors with better beach view as long as you don't mind the elevator ride or extra flights of stairs. Rooms are not pre-assigned but requests are almost always accommodated.

Does the Bilmar include any kind of breakfast in its rates/resort fees? Also does it include use of beach chairs and umbrellas? Trying to weigh pros and cons of staying either here or Treasure Bay. We’ve stayed there before and absolutely loved it but we are bringing our son this year and don’t want to have to cross the street for the beach. Thanks in advance!
You get 2 $5.00 vouchers for breakfast. You also get free beach chairs, but you have to carry them yourself. It is quite a walk to the beach. I was never able to use my kayak voucher because the rental shack on the beach was never open, however, if they are you can rent umbrellas and larger chairs. The free chairs and folding, small chairs. I found that for the money, the restaurant across the street was amazing. DO NOT go to McDonalds!

How far from the hotel to the ocean?
The Bilmar is right on the Gulf of Mexico!! Beautiful views from most rooms of the Hotel. The beach in Treasure Island is very BIG, meaning that it’s a little bit of a trek from the Sand to the Surf!! But definitely we’ll worth the 5-7 minute walk😀😀😀 Warmer and smaller, gentler surf compared to the Atlantic.
