We did not stay because we had stopped by chance to eat on our way to Pensacola. We knew nothing about this 1937 building but loved the ambience so much that I asked to see a room before booking next time around. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathroom had been refurbished, the room was quaint and clean...

This is like stepping back in time. What a great hotel. Great staff. Rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. The ac has been fixed and it gets very cool in the room. There also was a fan in the room. The place is very clean and they have free wifi. I will be back.

First I would like to say, I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable stay to get a way from it all. Second, I would like to wonder why folks write bad reviews about this hidden gem. If you don't like the woods, don't come to the woods! There is plenty of room in the cities for you. This was...

We are going to the springs on Labor Day and wanted to stay at the Lodge. I called them and they have availability, but the price is $25.00 more than if booked on Trip Advisor. I asked them if there was any difference between booking with them directly or with Trip Advisor, and they said they won't guarantee a room...

I enjoyed 2 breakfast and 1 dinner at the Lodge Resturant and can attest to the delicious Shrimp and Grits. But the rooms in which you are suppose to sleep were too, too hot - in the 80s!! The air conditioner did not work & when I called the desk to ask for assistance, I was told the air conditioning...

Mostly, the lodge is a great place to stay. Some people might be put off by the antiquated rooms, but we thought they were charming and they were clean, which is what counts. AC in the Lodge is apparently quite variable, but our room was just fine in the August heat. Staff at reception were super helpful, though in the...

I loved this little treasure in the woods! I value these type of historic buildings. My kids and I loved the bragging rights to say we 'swam with the alligators'. Not really, but we did see one on the other side of the swimming rope! Even though there is no AC, we had a fan and felt a bit 'Eco...

My family comes every year. We love it here, over the years there has been changes in management, some good some bad. But the overall feel of the place is fantastic,it's a step of simplicity back in time, with great chicken. BUT..I do not like the fact they make you book in 2-3 day stays during football games at a higher...

Everything there was wonderful except for the fact that the A/C system was not working due to a complete overhaul of the very old system! Oh well, a large fan was in the room and after a couple of drinks, we did OK. It is a step back in time to stay at this lodge, including an old style large...

We had been here many years before and decided to make a spring time trip to the area again to visit the many natural areas and stay at the lodge. But when we were there before my wife was fully ambulatory but in recent years MD has taken that privilege away from her. So now we are very sensitive to...
