Vacation Village at Weston is often praised for its cleanliness and expansive grounds, though some guests feel the charm is overshadowed by dated decor and unexpected cleaning fees. The spacious units with their well-equipped kitchens and multiple pools are a highlight, yet critiques arise over their outdated condition and occasional maintenance issues. While the location is convenient for local attractions, opinions are split on the atmosphere, with a vintage appeal for some and a need for modernization for others. Despite the friendly and helpful staff, the value proposition is diminished by additional fees and mandatory charges.

Overall very positive with the exception of lounge hogs at the pool. Management should enforce the 45 min empty rule so you don't have to be at the pool 1/2 before it opens just to get a place to sit. And also restrict people from reserving more that in the unit. People just pick up a stack of towels and reserve 6-8 at a time then dont even sit in them.

We have stayed at this resort numerous times over the years. I was saddened to see things starting to look a little in disrepair. There were tiles missing at the pool on the ledge edge and the handicap chair lift was starting to rust on the bottom (noticible from inside the pool). The grills igniter buttons don’t work. There were no luggage carts available everyday in our unit. This made for a difficult time in carrying groceries in as well as luggage to and from the car. There needs to be some other method to check in and check out those carts to prevent people from leaving them in their rooms. Our shower needed a rubber seal added to the bottom of the shower door and perhaps a new one along the length of the door. As a result, the shower leaked terribly all over the floor and towards the toilet, also soaking up the bath mat by the time we completed just one shower. We also had people in unit B smoking all week and the entranceway to both units smelled terrible as did our unit because we share a ventilation air conditioning system between the two units. We complained about this with the front desk because I didn’t want to be charged for smoke smell in our unit when we weren’t smoking. There was an offer to possibly move us however I was not happy with the inconvenience to move since there were no carts to begin with when we moved in and we had totally unpacked, filled our refrigerator, etc. I would have much rather had the unit’s occupants approached about the situation and their security deposit retained. The staff was courteous and housekeeping in our building was prompt with delivery of fresh towels, etc. when requested. I would stay here again but I hope that the units and grounds are maintained a little better and repairs done to the pool area, grills and units as pointed out. Ibis 210A. (Perhaps they are short on qualified staff as so many people have chosen not to work and take unemployment instead)

This resort is well maintained and you can see workers constantly cleaning or touching up facilities. One bedroom unit had a pullout sofa in living room. Looks like a new sofa and the pullout bed is comfortable. Small kitchenette has a hot plate no stove and a microwave oven. Very happy with the accommodation. Laundry facilities on each floor in Crane building. Pool area at main building needs more pool seating. People are reserving their chairs at 8 am but leave them vacant until such time they come back to the pool which could be hours. This practice should not be allowed. The pool area is clean and comfortable. There is a kids pool area and also hot tub. Small gym on site. Good area for walking and bike riding. Golf courses in the area. Handy access to major roads and highways in Fort Lauderdale area.

Thank you for your comments. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. It sounds like you may have been assigned to a B Suite, because those are the suites that have a two-place burner instead of a stove. In the future, you can request to be placed in an A Suite with the full kitchen. If we have it available, we will be more than happy to grant your request. Moreover, we apologize for the difficulty you had in trying to find a chair at the pool. Spring Break is one of our busiest times of the year, which results in many younger guests and large families. They tend to spend a lot of time at the pool. We have forwarded your review to the General Manager and hope to serve you again in the future.

We stayed at Vacation Village at Weston Fl from March 10 through March 17, 2019. If you are looking for a resort over built, very busy, adjacent to route 95, and extremely noisy this is the vacation spot for you. The pool is really nice, however to obtain a spot at the pool one has to line up at 8:00 am and wait for staff to clean the pool and deck [with leaf blowers] then blow a whistle so everyone can run for their lives to secure several chairs and tables only to go back to their rooms and not return for over 1-2 hours. We witnessed this charade every day and how most people monopolized more chairs then needed. Staff were friends with most of these very same people. During our stay the unit next door had a domestic disturbance which turned into smashing glass, furniture and very loud fighting and swearing. Glass was all over our shared foyer so we were unable to leave in the morning until maintenance responded to clean the mess up. We were so disturbed and concerned for the young women during this 12:00 midnight to 3:00 am brawl we called the front desk several times during the night and no one answered even though the 3rd shift staff was on duty. We realized after, we should have called 911. We went to the front desk the next morning and explained what happened the night before and the supervisor on duty was apologetic and offered no excuses, kept saying people were on duty and she would look into it. The most disturbing part is, this incident was very scary and someone could have been seriously injured. We never received a follow-up email regarding our stay or any written communications regarding our concerns. We will never stay here again and will make sure to tell all of friends to stay away! Vacation Nightmare at Weston!

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We do not like that your vacation did not go as well as you wanted it to. We apologize for the issues you had. The safety and comfort of all of our guests is our number one priority. Vacation Village at Weston offers 24-hour security and the front desk is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. For the safety of all of our owners, guests, and staff, all entrances and exits of buildings lock automatically at 5:00 PM and are only accessible with a valid guest room key. All security officers have golf carts and one officer patrols pools and buildings on foot during the evening. Nevertheless, we have forwarded your review to the General Manager and hope to make it up to you in the future.

The pool area is very crowded at the main building. When the toilet is flushed, it's very loud. When we were there, and on the ground floor, we faced a parking lot that was barricaded and under repair; inconvenient in terms of both parking, unloading the car and sitting outside on the patio. Some annoying wildlife on main floor coming on to the patio, ducks and squireels. After paying an RCI exchange fee, you are also charged $30 a week as a resort fee. When asked what it is for, it's for wifi, beverages at the pool which were sugar-laden and could not drink for medical reasons. No no-sugar options provided) and activities for which there were some charges,i.e. bingo. The wifi worked very well, however, and in this location you are reasonably close to Sawmill Grass Mall. I hadn't been back to this resort in 16 years and while it's a nice property it won't be a top choice going forward.

Thanks for your detailed review, Elizabeth P. We are sorry if you felt the pool area was too crowded. This is one of our busier times of the year with all the "snowbirds" coming down for some Florida sunshine and warmth. It is unfortunate you did not like the wildlife around the resort like the ducks and squirrels and such. Some of our guests do like seeing those animals nearby. They don't bother too much. Also, for your knowledge the $30 required resort fee is collected at the time of check-in (one fee per reservation). It is applied to all guests and owners. It includes Wi-Fi, limited local transportation within a 3-mile radius via shuttle service, discounts at participating merchants (must show room key), access to Vacation Village at Weston resort activities and amenities such as karaoke night, family movie night, poolside themed parties, aqua fitness lessons, social center (schedule provided at check-in), access to the fitness center, morning coffee, poolside refreshments from 2 PM – 6 PM, access to the business center and use of in-room safes. We wish you better vacation experiences for the future.

I recently wrote a review during our stay which was 90% negative.  On our day of check-out which is 10AM we stepped out early for a cup of coffee returning about 9AM to find room service in our room before we checked out cleaning and eating our food. I told them we have not yet checked out and I needed 15 minutes to use the bathroom,  change my clothes and finish removing our belongings. While sitting on the toilet naked, they unlocked the entrance door and returned again and left after I said excuse me! On the previous day I asked a member of the staff noticeable by their shirt for a roll of toilet paper and was told to go talk to someone else!
Later I reviewed my credit card expenses and found a $30 charge. I called the resort to question this charge and was this is an additional resort fee that is not disclosed during booking, checking in or departure.

We are disturbed to hear of the conduct you mentioned from our contracted housekeeping company. They are not a part of our staff. Unfortunately, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic we had to let go of our original housekeeping staff. But we are still going to report your review to the General Manager, so that this doesn't happen again.

Vacation Village at Weston on Racquet Club Road is a lovely resort. The pool area is very nice and the pool is large with a nice waterfall feature. My husband enjoyed swimming in the pool every day during our week stay at the resort. We actually chose this location because of the pool. There are plenty of pool-side lounges and chairs. Cool drinks and water are available for guests as well. The resort has a small convenient store, and one may purchase snacks, food, ice cream and beverages on site. A side units have all the conveniences of home with fully equipped kitchens. B units are smaller with a full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, and two burner hot plate, as well as glassware, flatware, and dishes needed to eat in. There are coin operated washers and dryers on each floor of the buildings on the property. The location is very convenient, close to many stores and restaurants. Nevertheless, the area is not as busy and there is less traffic than areas closer to Fort Lauderdale. The only con about our unit was that the toilet was very loud when flushed. The building itself was very quiet. Vacation Village at Weston is a great place to stay a few days or longer.

We spent a week there. The accommodations were very nice in our unit we were assigned. We were in the Crane building, just across from the checkin building & pool. We were disappointed in the noise from the interstate while lounging at the pool. We also heard lots of traffic from our room on the 5th floor, one building away from the pool, facing the opposite direction (parking lot). We also stayed at the Weston Town Center location, Meizner, and that one was much quieter so we would rather go back there.
Now for the timeshare presentation trick... we checked in & the gentleman pointed to the next person over to go to for our parking pass. We went over & got the pass then the gentleman said we get a complimentary light breakfast or lunch. We chose lunch. He then asked for a credit card to charge $20 for a table reservation which he said would be refunded. We then knew there was more to this... he gave us a gift card to return to any Weston property within a year & said we would get more money on a Visa gift card. We ended up going through the presentation & viewing the model. We did have 3 people try to convince us to buy into a timeshare but we already belonged to a vacation club. I thought about canceling several times but figured we would see it through. So bottom line, we didn’t appreciate the trickery to get us to do this...

Upon check in I was informed that my room was not ready. I understood, not unusual. What I didn't appreciate was the fact that I had to stand in line for over a half hour just to get keys when it was. There was a separate line to just get keys. I asked someone if people could help who were at the check in desk and magically afterward they started to do that but started further down the line than where many of us were there first! In addition to that experience, the entire pool experience was horrific. Chairs and lounges had towels with no one at the seat, towels were nice and neat so you know it had not been occupied, hence for a guest to sit no availability. I noticed many guests had tables with chairs and sat for hours, then mid-afternoon they maybe would sit and if not take the towel and leave. I found out that people from other resorts can come, not an issue, but I think the people at the resort should be able to have a place to sit. To get a lounge you have to be in line by 7 a.m.! I could see the line from my room. I got lunch from the small store and people would not let me sit at a table because they were going to play Bingo in an hour, not nice. I was at the front desk every day for an issue, leaking refrigerator, I had two leaking coffee makers which were terrible, the printer in the computer center did not work each time I was there, one of which there was no ink because it needed to be ordered, not good for the guests, especially when you need to print out a boarding pass. My list goes on and on.

We arrived to a a beautiful bright lobby area and were quickly checked into our huge A Unit in the Osprey Building, the balcony was large and we had a great view of the entire resort!

The pool was huge and had a grotto waterfall in the middle and there were many areas to sit, if you want a lounger in the sun though, go early! The Aquasize class was awesome and the instructor was great! The hot tub was a welcome treat in the evenings.
The location was incredible, with many restaurants, grocery stores and anything else a person could want nearby. The neighbourhood was friendly and we felt very comfortable walking anywhere, anytime of day. In the clubhouse was a very well equipped gym and a little store with snacks, souvenirs and sundry items. Poolside there were ping pong, pool table and a shuffleboard. BBQ's were right out the doors of each building. The yards were kept very tidy and the landscaping was very nice. There were many feral cats around, but they looked healthy and were thankful for scraps of food now and again!

The unit was furnished very tastefully and the king bed was extremely comfortable. Our coffee pot had a leaking issue, but was replaced as soon as we called. There could have been a few more kitchen tools, pots and pans etc, but we made do. Everything was very clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
There was a laundry on each floor in our building.
We would stay here again.

We have limited the number of pool chairs due to the busy Spring Break season and also to ensure there is social distancing at the pool area. We do not advise guests and owners to bring their beach chairs.
