We are located 65kms from Kolhapur on the NH 204 Kolhapur - Ratnagiri highway, at the height of 600 meters above sea level, amidst the thick jungles of Shayadri Ranges of eastern Maharashtra district of Kolhapur and coastal Konkan district of Ratnagiri. The climb from Ratnagiri District to the resort is very scenic and is called Amba Ghat. The resort is located in village of Amba, near Dajipur Bison Sanctuary on the Western Periphery. Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary is close to us. At The Jungle Resort, Amba we are a property of 5 acres with natural and jungle terrain, beautiful and bountiful tree cover. In these jungles you can find the great Indian bison and other animals associated with the jungle. "WATERING HOLE," our in-house restaurant along with local Kolhapuri Tambda and Pandhra Rassa, cuisines of delicious seafood we also serve Jain, Chinese menu (we get freshest and choicest fish due to our proximity to coastal Maharashtra - Ratnagiri 60 kms). We only serve HALAL non-veg food. Our kitchen team, who are well experienced, can cater to every visitor's meal requirement. We are a pet friendly resort.

The resort is located about half a Km off the main road. The last 500 meters are rough and could get prone to some flooding, so you might struggle with low ground clearance cars in heavy monsoons.

However, once you reach the resort, it's really good. It's large with a lot of open space. Rakesh at the reception was friendly and checked us in efficiently.

We took the wooden cabin and it was really good. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, bright, and was tightly constructed without gaps anywhere, so that no rats and other insects come in. Even the windows were perfect fitting. The bathrooms could be improved though. While it was clean with hot water on demand, it's dimly lit and small.

Tanaji took us on a safari that was simply mind blowing. He is an old hand here, and it very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable.

Dinner was really good. Breakfast was pretty basic, but it was tasty. Tea was good.

The Jungle Resort is a really nice place to stay. Rakesh and team are extremely welcoming and caring.

We booked a wooden cottage with small balcony and view in the forest.
Since the camp is located quite remote, we appreciated a lot the excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had veg options and fish, all tasty and good quantities.
We also recommend the activities that are proposed.

There were a lot of families with kids who really seemed to have a lot of fun on the property.

Check out their website for more information.

Big advantage for foreigners: You can do online booking with international credit card directly on their website!!

Lovely weekend destination for people from Satara Kolhapur Ratnagiri.

Within reach from Mumbai Pune with at least two days of stay and a day for travel.

As per name this resort has good plantation for a feel of jungle.

Every cottage has private seating with good privacy.

For kids and children's below age 10 has many options of outdoor games where they can spend their time.

Location is good for photography and photo shoots.

Authenticate Maharastrian food is served in buffet with better options for Veg and Non Veg.

Many options in room types available as per group size with at most privacy for each group.

Local main cook Vitthal is managing great taste for veg and non veg. Breakfast menu has limited options but taste of every item is good suitable for any age.

This is pets friendly resort, Maggi and Rum are king and queen of this resort. Both are guest friendly and kids loves playing with them.

Swimming pool is small but good for small groups. Cleanliness of pool is bit low but considering that's surrounded by tree's it is difficult to avoid leaves to fall.

All staff members in resort are friendly, soft spoken and efficient. Especially 4 girls who are under training from West Bengal are very sweet.

Wooden A.c. cottages are bit small in size but ok for only couple without kids.

We were looking for a relaxing place with good ambience and food. The ratings of this place was quite high and hence we settled for a 2 nights stay. The property is quite big and wooded with tall Nilgiri and other trees. The roooms are small and the owners for some reason have stuffed 4 beds where they can actually fit 2. Although we were only 2 persons, we were provided with a room having 4 beds, and felt very congested and cramped in the room. The toilet in the room was also very small and some basic commonsense like fixing the bath towel rod away from bathing area were missing. The best part was the varandah in front of the room which was simply great for sipping hot tea in the morning with a nippy weather. The dining area is a big let down. It feels like a hostel canteen with plastic chairs ( which were over used and needed a change), the food is laid is a corner which is not appealing at all. The plastic plates and steel spoons again gave a hostel feeling. The dining area clearly needs spurcing up period. Food was also just basic and not appealing at all. The only thing we enjoyed was the jeep top ride to a nearby dam and temple in the evening. If you choose to stay here, dont miss the evening drive on jeep top. At the resort, there is nothing much to do during afternoon hours and the resort gets quite humid even in end Nov when we visited.

The resort and its premises are hygienic and clean. The staff is extremely helpful and service provided them was amazing. The food provided including breakfast, lunch and dinner was well cooked and delicious. The local sightseeing and a visit to Pawankhind offered by the resort was a memorable experience for us. The surroundings are filled with greenery, hence closer to the nature. I would definitely recommend a visit to this place.

Beautiful sprawling property with cottages that are spacious and clean with very clean bathrooms.
There are no creepy crawlies around the property even though it is a peaceful nature setting
There are several activities like game room with table tennis, carrot, chess and a small library.
Outdoor adventure and climbing activities are also good.
Food at all meals is great.
All staff is very courteous and welcoming. Even their 2 dogs are very friendly
Special thanks to the safari guide for pawankind and forest safari.

The service of the staff was excellent and so was the location. The food, however, was below average. It made me bloated and despite paying for the package, we skipped meals. So, my tip is to skip the package of food offered at the hotel and eat at nearby restaurants and hotels.

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your kind review. We have noted your points on the food and we will definitely check back on the dates you were at the resort and follow up on any problems. Normally most of the guests have appreciated our food quality. We wish to continue improving on the same and your advice is duely noted. Thanks for appreciating our service and the location of our resort. We are located in a very dense tree covered area. We also have newly developed AC Wooden Cabins. Thanks. Please do visit us again and give a chance to redeem ourselves. In the meantime pls recommend us to family and friends.

Stayed for two nights at the Jungle Resort. I would say, it was a wonderful experience overall.
The resort is off the main highway surrounded by many trees. A lot of birds can be found around. (and a lot of insects as well, especially in the evening). It's a big property with nice little pool and dedicated areas for many recreational activities, indoor as well as outdoor. Even if you decide to stay inside the resort only throughout the stay, there are many activities that one can do. Also, all the activities are in proper working condition. So, full marks to the management for taking care of all of this. Rooms are very basic but clean and neat. No TVs in the room which is very good. Nice pathways created connecting rooms, cottages, pool, restaurant etc.
Food was good. One has to opt only for All Meals package. There is no choice. But, you won't disappoint. There is a optimum spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One can put a separate order for food as well.
Must mention the staff as well. The staff was really good. Always helpful and served all the request that we made. Also, must mention the guide, Mr. Tanaji, who took us thru the jungle safari and Pavankhind. The way he narrated the whole Pavankhind episode was just heart-touching.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort.
