We camped with a travel trailer. This is an older campground. Many campsites are too small for a RV. There was a nice sand beach and playground close to where we were camped. Our pad was not level front to back and slightly off side to side. The downside was the invasion of flies and ants. Sitting outside was difficult...

We wanted to give Lake Allatoona a try. So, checked the reviews, and it appeared to me Sweetwater would be the best campground in the area. Check in was smooth, campground hosts congenial. This is a very large campground. Our site was # 6, at the very end. Many of the campsites are directly on the lake. But, it appears,...

This was our first trip out with the new RV and we were pleased with the facilities here. The campground hosts were friendly, the site was well laid it and out site was less than 100' from the lake. The back-ins were spacious and it place was very clean.

Large COE park on Allatoona Lake open year round. The park is very nice and the sites well-spaced. The last loop (sites 139-150) has a steep grade. We stayed for almost a week in Oct 2013 and had a great time in spite of getting kicked out because of the government shut-down. The water level was down by then, so...

We went tent camping at Sweetwater Campground last weekend and had a blast! We did not have reservations, but they had several 'non-reservable' lots left. We stayed at site #85, which was across a little street from the lake and had beautiful lake views and good shade from tall pine trees. This was about equal distance from the two bathhouses...

I've camped at McKinney, McKaskey, and Payne. So, I thought that I would give Sweetwater a try. We were on site 25. I enjoyed Sweetwater the most and would definitely return. It had the best combination of lake side campsites, nice beach area, kids' playground area, large sites, and fairly clean showers. We made a reservation for Labor Day. Check-in...

I tent-camped here in March 2012 on what I think was their first open weekend of the year. I was at site 11 and it was great - secluded in trees but and with a view of the lake. The Tent sites are nice and there are variety of RV sites such as standard and pull-through. There is a swim...
