We stayed here for a wedding. The location is great - right in downtown Decatur, lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance - and the staff was very friendly. On the other hand, the stay itself was less great. The property is in the midst of being refurbished, so there is construction debris, rolls of carpeting, and so forth everywhere. We experienced a series of issues, including: * Being given the wrong kind of key to our original room (the lock hadn't been refurbished), so housekeeping had to let us in * Uncomfortable beds and loud neighbors in our original room, leading us to ask to change rooms * The computer system being down all weekend, so they had to reassign us a room by hand (which, to be fair, they did, although I had to stand in line for 20 minutes

Dear Michael G, We were disappointed to read your feedback and hope you will accept our apologies for the problems you experienced causing you to need to move rooms. You deserved a comfortable and stress-free stay, and we did not live up to your expectations, or ours and we are truly sorry for the multiple issues you encountered. We assure you this is not acceptable, nor is it normal at our hotel, and measures are being taken to reinforce procedures to prevent these types of issues from occurring again. We hope you will see this for the isolated incident that it was and stay with us again for the chance to leave with a much better impression. Scot Gladstone General Manager

I stayed at the Courtyard Decatur because being close to downtown meant I could take MARTA from the airport and walk a few blocks to the hotel and to the event which I was attending. This is an urban Courtyard surrounded by other buildings and with the interior courtyard being a bar / dining area. The rooms are of a reasonable size and in good condition. There are plentiful powerpoints but no USB plugs. It is a short walk to the many and varied restaurants in West Ponce District of Decatur which made breakfast, lunch and dinner easy. There is construction (and renovation) on-going at the hotel. The construction noise seemed to be kept within the the times of 8am-6pm. The construction grit does get tracked everywhere; the room has a vinyl flooring and the grit stood out. There

Worst hotel I've stayed in over my many years of business and vacation travel. Second and last time that a courtyard does it to me. If I'm writing this review while in the room, then you know it's bad. 1) Woke this Saturday morning to hammering above the room. 2) guest services, maintenance etc are not available via hotel phone. 3) front desk/ guest services doesn't pick up phone period, from initial check in 4)No remote control in room when checked in 5) No room # on hotel room, so we had to guess the room we're in 6) room smelled like paint 7) No local info or brochures in room 8) parking lot is a nightmare and they know about it. 9) Had to go through 800# twice to contact hotel guest services 10) guest services a) sent a remote up with security who couldn't find room and

We stayed for 3 nights while we did Emory move-in activities. We had a recently renovated room which was very nice and extremely clean. Parking was easy in a nearby garage ($10/day) and the exercise room was a good size with nice equipment. We didn't realize how nice the nearby Decatur Square area was but there were a bunch of great restaurants and bars to check out which made dinner plans incredibly simple. Overall, a nice stay.

Was told that there was some construction going on but it was much more than some! The whole hotel is torn up! The front desks girls were very apologetic and I feel for them as people come to check in. I would have changed hotels if I would have known the extent of the construction. I feel like I should have gotten a discounted price but paid a premium price. The carpet in the room was covered in stains so hopefully the construction will include upgrading rooms. Also,we came in after midnight from a function and walked right in side door without having to use a room key. Hopefully the place will be awesome once it is complete but would not recommend staying here until it is. The picture is my view from the room!

Dear Carol M, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your visit with us. We're sorry your stay was impacted by our construction, as we understand it can cause serious inconveniences to our guests. We plan the noisiest work when it will cause the least disturbance to our guests, and regrettably, this was unavoidable. We hope you will come back after the renovations have been completed and our hotel is fresh and clean. We would love the opportunity to provide you with a more peaceful experience. Thanks again. My family and I visited this area to get some wedding shopping done. we were told in advance of renovations and did not mind. we happened to get the newly renovated room, which was awesome. On Sunday we were treated to a free lunch as a kind gesture due to the renovations., Great hotel, will defin9tely stay here again.

We stayed here and yes they were under renovation. The thing is, we knew that beforehand by reading the website. They had a clear notice posted. Our daughter had to be in the hospital the next morning and so we chose to stay here anyway because we’ve been before and love the location. The 5th floor was done so they put us up there. We were warned in advance that there would be construction noise until 6 and there definitely was. We turned up the TV and watched a movie while our toddler napped straight through it and then took her out for dinner during that last hour. No biggie. We had so much fun at the Taiyo, the ramen restaurant and bar in the hotel. GREAT food and drink and 20% off to hotel patrons so we were there for lunch and dinners and they were so friendly to our

I would strongly advise against staying here. We arrived late and were given a room on the top floor and were stunned when the elevator doors opened into a construction site: tools, sawhorses, paint, etc. The floor had been ripped up and was down to the subfloor. All the doors were paint splattered and dinged. Our room was covered in construction dust inside. We left footprints in it. Other rooms on the floor were occupied, we could hear children inside some and a women was trying to push a loaded luggage cart down the hallway, alone, around the construction remnants. I regret not taking photos. We were given another room on a lower floor, and while we didn't feel the need for protective gear, it was in very bad shape. The outlets didn't hold a plug, things just fell right out.

Stayed here during the snowstorm and was grateful for the in-house pantry store. Looks to have been recently remodeled, this is the third time I’ve stayed here. Good basic amenities (fridge, microwave, robe, desk chair). Staff always friendly and helpful, would recommend.

I understand that the hotel is about to undergo some major renovations but I feel like it needs to be said that there are some systemic issues to address. The new furniture and the wall coverings will be nice. But, the challenges that I found were more related to cleanliness. I was pretty annoyed to find hair in the tub, bathroom floor and even the night stand drawer. I was so grossed out by the hair in the drawer, I couldn't end up using it. I've always been annoyed by the Courtyard brand because it's the only hotel at this price point generally comes with breakfast. Not Courtyard. Here, you don't even get coffee without paying extra. Once the Hilton brand Hampton Inn opens up across the street, there will be little to draw guests to the Courtyard. The gym equipment was not
