Generally It was nice experience with hotel Portobelo convention center. This hotel is situated right on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Also it is near to taxi station, rental cars, shops and airport. I recommend this part of island with the best beach. The hotel is old, but the bad was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with variety of food and... More

The hotel is located 700 meters from airport and it is in front of the main beach, very close to downtown. The service and breakfast was not good and the bathroom had salty water in the shower and tap.

Hotel 5 floors, we got 2 floor room , Room: 2 individuals beds firm mattress and pillows, with minimal space in a small closet , you need to keep your clothes in your luggage. From my window you can see a disgusting next door parking with a noise truck that started running engines at 0800. There is not access to... More

This hotel is ok, there is no hot water, its steps away from the beach, the beds are ok, so over all just ok, for the price paid, one has to remember that is an island. Contrary to other reviews, the ladies at the front desk were extremely polite and caring. The Island of San Andres is over priced, so... More

The hotel is in front of the beach, really well located, but there is no potable water in the room, not even to brush the tooth. We had to buy water to do it. The walls is so thin that i could hear noise from the room next door. Breakfast was poor as the hotel.

This hotel is right on the water, but with no water views, because there's a bigger hotel built right in front of it. We got to use their (the hotel in front) small, and crowded pool, but couldn't order drinks at the bar, which is free to those staying at the hotel in front, but we couldn't even pay to... More

We arrived at night and the two girls at the front desk took for ever to help us check in. Then they asked for the money to pay upfront. We have no problem on paying in advance but we needed our room ASAP because we were tired. They made us wait a lot of time. When we complained about the... More

I booked this hotel for 2 nights but checked out only spending one terrible night. There was a hand-sized cockroach in my room and also mold in the bed linen and around ceiling... Unless you are a cockroach lover, you don't want to go there to experience the hell.

The hotel is just across from a nice central beach and a few blocks away the pedestrian mall. Its pros end there. As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff was not particularly friendly. You must pay upon checking in (which is not a standard practice) so if something happens after you checked and decide to leave you're out of luck.... More

Portobelo Plaza is a reasonably good hotel at one of the best locations along the beach. We hired Victor, the Rasta man who rents golf carts across the street from the hotel for fantastic tours of the island plus Johnny and Haines Cays. Haines Cay is less crowded and much prettier than Johnny Cay. On Haines Cay get Bibi's fresh... More
