My wife and 17 month year old stayed for two nights here and it was not enough! I became addicted to diving here as the conditions are great and the hotel is perfectly situated near the best diving sites on the island. Literally you can grab a mask and fins and walk out across the road and you're in the...

Wonderfully tranquil (what it says on the box) property that sits on the only road circling the island on the western coast. The staff are great - very accommodating and will go out of their way to make your stay easier. Easy access to beaches by bike, scooter, buggy and to the main town by bus or taxi but leaving...

The ambiance is fantastic with beautiful sunset in front of the complex. Beautiful pool in the middle of luxuriant garden. Staff is really helpful and always available. Really appreciated the breakfast served in the room, the pick-up at the airport and all the attention given. Diving facilities and instructors are top notch with plenty of activities to offer. It is a very peaceful, secluded and beautiful property... Tranquilo Everyone was very nice and helpful. The property is 20 minutes (by cab or the right bus) from the city so factor that in as you make dinner plans. Rent a scooter. My sister and I chose this place to dive and enjoyed the diving immensely. If you’re looking for...

San Andres Island is Colombia's tropical paradise destination. With a booming economy and a rapidly-expanding middle class with discretionary income, all-inclusive vacation packages to San Andres Island are sold to Colombians throughout their country. Through my research here on TripAdvisor, I learned that many of the all-inclusive resorts on the island are poorly maintained. Wanting more bang for my travel...

It turns out Playa Tranquilo used to be a type of scuba training school and was turned into a magnificent boutique hotel. We actually went back and forth a couple of times per day, taxis will come and pick you up at your door and drop you off at the same it's less than a 20 minute drive. You do...

Our stay at Playa Tranquilo was excellent; easily recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet/tranquil place to relax. We were after something unique with personalised service and offering a true Colombian feel; not that of the usual run-of- the- mill touristy hotels and resort. The service provided by the onsite staff was second to none. The daily breakfast was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Playa Tranquilo is a Boutique Hotel that is separated into three luxurious options, on four lush acres of sea front property - The House, the Apartment and the Hotel (currently under renovation). Unlike other hotels, our goal is to custom tailor a uniquely fabulous experience for each and every guest. If you choose the House or the Apartment, you will be the only guests in that residence. As a guest of our Hotel, you will feel equally secluded. Our guests prefer staying with us because they feel like they are staying at an exclusive residence on the island, and not a suffocating resort. Our property is nestled on the less developed side of San Andres, a short 15 minutes from the city center/airport. Playa Tranquilo is an island of tranquility unto itself. Whether you are interested in scuba diving, lounging by the pool, touring the islands, having a chef prepare all of your meals, popping into the sea directly outside our gate or just settling into a hammock to enjoy the sunset with an aperitif - we have it all and would be more than happy to customize your time (see services page) at Playa Tranquilo. You can be as spoiled, or as self-sufficient as you like in this idyllic setting. ... more   less
