Four of us had the misfortune to visit this restaurant for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. What a disappointment! Entering the hotel is like stepping back into the eighties, though it has the potential to be really beautiful with many interesting and original architectural features. The young man who greeted us and subsequently seated us in the light and... More

A bit of a mixed bag. Good restaurant for traditional Sunday roast, beef was very tough though. Generally good service. Rooms on the other hand are really basic. I can't remember the last time I had a room without a phone in it. Not a wardrobe but a rail with hangers. Is being refurbished but I got the impression my... More

Having attend a wedding at this hotel i can only liken it to a bad dream. The wedding was a dream come true the bride and groom and guest were excellent. The hotel itself is showing signs of being very tired and in need of upgrading. This brings me on to the meal........ the young staff who served were inexperienced... More

Well let me start by saying we have previously stayed at this lovely hotel and enjoyed it. Due to this fact our daughter wanted her wedding reception there, we had a few hiccups from booking the wedding to the wedding day ( i.e. Double booked rooms) but the assistant manager Craig was brilliant and sorted things out, On the big... We had a family meal here and have used this hotel many times over the years. I was really surprised at the changes made it is now a pleasure to stay in this hotel. The improvements to the rooms make it a pleasant stay. I would have liked to have known that the chicken was a whole bird as I... More

Attended a wedding at Durker Roods, something of a hidden gem of a venue. Not a very large function room, but well presented, clean and the food was good. Drink prices sensible, and enjoyed the night, with the only let down worth mentioning being the DJ. Glued to a hotel table in the corner of the room and didn't seem... More

Thank you for your kind words. The Durker Roods Hotel is well known for its excellence, professional and individual service especially with regards to weddings. We listen attentively to provide the couple with their dream day. It is most unusual that the DJ didn't interact with guests, however this has been addressed and I apologise if it took the edge... Stayed on a Wowcher deal. Room allocated was double (Room 31) but on entering there was a very strong smell of paint, the TV wasn't working and hair dryer had no plug. Receptionist moved us to a family room (the only other one available apparently - although the hotel did not seem particularly busy on a mid-October Mon-Tues). Room overlooked... More

The room was cold, the beds were far too soft, and the decor was really tacky. They tried to charge me forty quid for something we hadn't eaten (though withdrew the charge immediately on being questioned, as if it were a regular occurrence). Breakfast was good, I must admit and the garden was nice. The staff were friendly too as... More
