We stayed in Cabin Bavarian Hideaway 44. It was clean, but the pictures are a little bit misleading. The cabin looks a lot bigger in the pictures. But for 2 people it was okay. Firealarm was missing.... I did clean out the jacuzzi tub before...More
We were very comfortable staying in this unit. It is upstairs and has two private porches. The back porch has no exit which is great if you are traveling with your dog or young children. It is located across the street from a park next...More

Have you ever been to Helen before? My first visit there was viewed as this charming little town... We spent a lovely day and evening, returned to our beautiful cabin rented from the Brown family on VRBO about 30 miles away, and looked forward to returning again. When we stayed at Bavarian Brook, we viewed Helen in an entirely different way. My bottom line advice-- do not stay here. It was horrid. The Georgia mountains are beautiful; Helen is a charming town to spend a day. My advice is to stay along the river in a cabin in one if the mountain towns and drive in for the day. My family loved the tubing also. Best of luck!

I think you first must realize that in Helen there is nowhere to stay that is elegant or modern. You can rent a cabin in the area around Helen and many are new or more modern, but then you will not be in walking distance to Helen or right on the river. So it's a matter of what you are looking for. It is as nice as any other condo or hotel you will find in Helen. Helen and it's Swiss look is a very old town and the accommodations are also. This place however is right on, nearly over the river, in a short walking distance to town, and is the part of the river where you can watch the tubers go by. Just look at the posted pics and you'll see. It is reasonably priced and I have never, ever been in one of the units that was dirty. Never. If you want to pay a fortune there are newer condos down from this place that are individually owned, but they rent for far more than you would want to pay to stay in Helen.
