My son, his wife, two sons, my husband and I spent a lovely four days, three nights at Southern Cross. We never were tempted to leave, staying busy with horse riding, walks, and delicious meals. Staff are polite and helpful, the property, beautiful and spacious, and the horses are such a joy.

This "dude ranch" bed and breakfast made a perfect quick getaway. We were to go in June but had to put it off. Excellent time to go! We are returning home now with great memories, full bellies, and new friends. The food is delicious. The room we had was well appointed, Scarlett O' Hara. The horses are well trained, and... More

We stayed here for a weekend event in Madison so we did not have chance to ride. The room we had was a little small but very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a large shower, no tub if you like one. We only had the breakfast but it was one of the best B&B buffet breakfasts we have ever... More

Even if you don't ride horses, this is a great place to get away form it all. A very relaxing and peaceful paradise nestled in among sweeping views of pleasant pastures with over 200 horses. The rooms are very nice, cozy, and welcoming after a pleasant ride on one of the many horses available. If you are an experienced rider... More

My two adult daughters and I recently spent a few heavenly days at Southern Cross Guest Ranch. It was my fourth visit, one daughter had been once before and my other daughter was on her first visit. We have a 4.5 year old daughter that is just crazy about horses -- more like obsessed. We had never been to the ranch before, and I just stumbled across it online. Although the pictures looked good on the website, I worried there would not be enough to do for my daughter, even with the trail rides. I was very... More
