My husband and I booked this hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary as we wound down a 2 week trip to Europe. We are your regular run of the mill type people, so 5 star is not our typical hotel stay. I didn't feel too out of pocket though. I felt like everyone treated us very warmly and the staff...

Exceptional, helpful staff. Wonderful location, and enormous comfortable suites. The only mild disappointment was the under furnished grand/main room. Judging from old pictures, the hotel was once incredibly opulent and inviting. Now the lobby and main room are somewhat disappointing. Lacking any real character or thought. Overall though, a good hotel that lacks some character.

I was very fortunate as I spent every summer for 2 weeks at the hotel for 15 years. The hotel became our summer home. Not only was it so pretty the staff was exceptional and remembered us each and every year. Sadly the regular staff has departed and we stopped going to Venice but the memories I have are amazing....

This is simply MAGNIFICENT The Lido location is superb...quiet and discreet Wonderful Venetian architecture and the rooms are like something out of a Moroccan movie. Speaking of rooms.....they are HUGE !!!!!!! The "wait staff" are extremely attentive and professional and all the amenities and facilities are "par excellence" extremely attentive, but then when you are staying at a "top flight"...

We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the hotel was. We read some negative reviews and was worried about the hotel that our cruiseline booked us in. No worries as our room was an extra large room at the long of a long hallway on the 1st floor. We had an ocean/beach view from our balcony. Our room must have been...

My wife and I got married at the Excelsior this summer in the Stucchi Ballroom and it exceeded our expectations. From the elegant look of the ballroom and how they'd set it up, to the sumptuous spread that the chef had laid out to the impeccable service provided, they delivered on all fronts and we would highly recommend it again....

This classical Belle Epoque style hotel was opened in 1908. Its style and luxury is still a valid one, if you like this kind of hotels. Breakfast is very nice, at the same level as the sea. The upper level you have a terrace with sea view, with good choice of wines. Rooms are big enough and with perfect accessories,...

We had a great stay here in October. The shuttle service to St Marks Square was a big plus and I wouldn't stay here without it - it would be a tricky or expensive journey to the centre of Venice out of season otherwise. The room was large and comfortable, the bed was super king size and nice and firm....

4 night trip with kids over half term. Chose The Lido as an alternative to being in the heart of Venice. Suited kids as Sightseeing in mornings and swimming in the huge heated hotel pool in the afternoon. Hotel staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Shuttle boat to Venice every hour so need to keep an eye on the clock but...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Excelsior hotel for 4 nights. Everything about the hotel was top notch, and I really enjoyed staying on Lido away from the crowds. The complimentary water taxi couldn't have been any more convenient, and we felt it was really one of the key benefits of the hotel. Breakfast spread was awesome. Apparently...
