Nice clean hotel in a quiet side street on the Lido.. Close to shops, restaurants and waterbus station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was typical continental style but perfectly adequate. Very good wifi connection in bedroom and public rooms.

Very nice staff. Hotel is not far from Lido SME stop, which made going to other islands pretty easy. Lido island itself is peaceful, smells good and is very beachy! And there are a lot of dogs! Hotel was clean, bathroom was great and the room even had a small balcony (which was great for drying clothes). Breakfast was very... More

Lovely hotel in great location. A few minutes walk into central lido where all the amazing restaurants are and few minutes to where the vaparetto leaves from. Highlight of our stay was taking the vaparetto into Venice mainland. Simply stunning. The hotel is immaculate. A 70's feel to it which suited it well. Breakfast was lovely with fab coffee. What... Well Sandy Mackay, my pussy cat, is on his travels again! I had promised myself for a long time that I would visit Venice. I wanted to see these gondolas, bridges, art, canals history etc ,so I persuaded my cousin to join me. We went from 9 may to 13 may 2016 flying from Edinburgh with Jet2.com......allowed 22 kilos and... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in April. The hotel's in a nice quiet location, only a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Short walk to the water buses, which run frequently day and night. Great location away from the bustle of Venice but only 15-20 minutes to get over to the city. The... More

Stayed here for 6 nights. Staff very friendly. Hotel was very clean, breakfast was substantial with a varied choice. Hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the water bus terminal so very easy to travel to and from Venice and the surrounding islands of Burano and Murano. A great place to stay.

The website shows this hotel just as it is. A bit dated but stylish and clean. Great value for money and a decent breakfast once you get used to seeing one staff member juggle everything. This is a perfect place to stay when visiting Venice especially if you are buying a travel pass which includes all routes to Venice Lido.

We stayed for a day in Venice (a shame since it is a beautiful town) and we found ourselves in this hotel. Decorated around the sixties, its got a cool vibe to it. Staff is very kind, the place is clean and the breakfast is generous compared to other buffets we had in Italy. It's not a new hotel, but... More

We stayed at the Hotel Rigel over the Easter weekend. This was our first visit to Venice, and after reading the reviews we booked this hotel as it was based in a quieter area than Venice itself. The Lido is a lovely area, with bars and restaurants just around the corner from this hotel. I would imagine it gets very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel Rigel, built in the 60's, is situated on one of the most important islands of Venice. Its importance and uniqueness are due to being the only one facing the Adriatic Sea on one side and on the other the basin of St. Mark's, just before the historical Square of St.Mark's, centre of the ancient Republic of Venice. Another characteristic that makes it unique, compared to all other islands of the Lagoon, is the possibility to reach it by car, avoiding problems and costs of car-parking either in Mestre (mainland) or at the Tronchetto (car-park). The hotel has 42 rooms on three floors connected by lift. The rooms nearly all have classical-style furnishings, are luminous, some with a small balcony and all with bathroom, shower, air conditioning, telephone with direct outside line, satellite TV, and a wireless internet connection. There is an internet point in the Hall. The Buffet breakfast is open from 7,00 to 10,00 a.M. In the breakfast room on the ground floor, while the restaurant is only open for organised groups. The hotel bar is open 24 hours a day. ... more   less
