This is an outstanding place to stay. The meditation and yoga is very personalized, uplifting and inspiring. Cornelia is a highly experienced teacher and the yoga and meditation spaces are beautiful. The food is truly divine - every mouthful a delight: harmonious, mouthwatering and inspirational. The service in terms of helping get tours, trips etc organized is friendly and excellent....

I really was not sure what to expect. This was my first trip to Sri Lanka plus my first time travelling alone. My hosts were very warm and welcoming. I arrived at the opening of the season and initially I was the only guest in the retreat so it was very, very quiet! This gave me an an opportunity to...

Place is absolutely wonderful, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with big garden and pool (that unfortunately was not super clean when i was there) the food is amazing and staff consist of mainly local women in difficult situations (ex single mothers) whom the owners decided to support. Owners work with lovely local ppl, can specially recomend the tuc tuc driver Kumara,...

This was a wonderful experience, in a peaceful and thoughtfully managed environment. The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious ,all fresh with no additives or preservatives, the best food i've eaten in Sri Lanka. House of Lotus exceed my expectations overall. It was spotlessly clean & run like clockwork ;this was a welcome retreat for me from my...

Very selfish Host, it seems to be always an issue if the yoga teacher also runs a hotel business, yoga not very up to date the last decade developments, place is nice, location in general okay, the surrounding outside the resort is not too relaxing

Location: The hotel is located about 2 km south from the bigger tourist beach hikkaduwa with makes it a calm place but still gives you the possibility to easy walk or take a tuktuk down to the bars, beach and stores. The beach starts right in front of House of lotus door so you can easy take a swim alone...

This is not a review written from staying at Lotus Garden, so maybe other people have different experiences of the stay, but this was our first impression of the host and her way of saying welcome to new comers and we have heard of other people saying the same. Its not the most welcome place when you haven't booked in...

We are a yoga retreat a little haven of peace and quiet. for this reason, the main door is always closed to offer our guests this quiet and to give private atmosphere. It has to ring a bell to open the door. I Cornelia manager from the Yoga retreat guided around the ladies and explains our concept...

After a very long travel from the UK to hikkaduwa, I was definitely in need of some relaxation. Well what can I say...the House of Lotus delivered. The rooms are spacious and perfect for my starfish position when sleeping(obviously in preparation for my yoga) Food: faultless, I am not a picky eater, but I do love great food, and I...

We wanted a break from the usual beach/hilltop stays so after reviewing a lot of hotels in Sri Lanka, we came across this retreat from TripAdvisor and it was the best vacation so far. This is not any conventional hotel but more of a home stay run by the couple. The website does not do any justice to describe the...

Positives: nice building, intense Yoga, great rooms and pool, delicious vegetarian food. Negatives: prices for all additonal charges (drinks, massages, transfers) are way too high, traffic noise from highway and train, inconsistent application of concept, if you are not fully aligned to the owners concept, your stay will be difficult and this requirement is not communicated on their webpage.
