We booked hotel through travelbird since we where looking for getting away and find some peace and relax. With great pleasure we where received and just after 20 min and a nice drink in a very peaceful environment just next to the stream we moved to the diner diner table. We had a fantastic diner (4 courses included in the... More

This is a hotel that has seen many guests and is nestled in the heart of the Champagne-Ardennes region that hugs Belgium and France. What you get with this hotel is tasteful simplicity. Like other guest have commented the lodging probably has not changed dramatically in about four decades. But, do not let this detract from the quiet, quaint charm... More

The picture shown by Tripadvisor was actually our room. Hidden in the Ardennes on the Franco-Belgian border you will find this nice place. Simple but decorated with taste. Big enough rooms. Ours had a small river streaming underneath our windows. Breakfast was good, with lot's of choice. Dinner was excellent. The white housewine was 'terrible" but after tasting, taken back... More

Contrary to some previous reviews, we found this hotel to be charmingly traditional, probably hasn't changed in 40 years, but all the better for it.. Room was a good size, bed very comfortable, free wifi, tv, plus dated but perfectly serviceable bathroom and all very clean. Nice residents lounge with comfortable chairs, looking out onto woodland and river at the... More

1. Hotel: this hotel is quite out of date. Room is small. Strange odor in the room, perhaps from the sewage of bathroom. 2. Restaurant: hotel has its own restaurant -- main reason we had chosen this hotel for convenience and assumed good quality of Ardennes food. We had browsed their on line menu and booked their 4- course menu.... More

Cosy, relaxing and good food... the hotel is right next to a stream of rushing water which was for us very soothing. Good beds, very friendly hostess... in the immediate neighborhood there are a lot of walking and mountain bike routes...

Very few respect of the host. We arrived at the hotel and we were received with very limited attention. We were given a room at the ground floor in the corridor between the bar area and restaurant dedicated to the breakfast. It means it is a noisy room till late night and in early in the morning. The room is... More

When we arrived we took a walk in the beautiful garden with a river. It looks like a fairytale, but it is a pity you cannot see this from the inside of the hotel. When you're having breakfast/diner, you are eating on the terrace next to the street with no view on the garden. If you want the nice view,... More

A very comfortable hotel in a pretty location (though hard to find using the Booking.com directions). Vresse and its close neighbour Bohan are lively villages and far more attractive than the better known and more heavily promoted Monthermé. Dinners and drinks are served in Belgian portions (enormous) so I think that Harmen must have made a bad choice with his... More

Lovely welcoming hotel, we had to wait a little while for our room to be ready, we were offered another at the front but decided to wait in the bar with a beer and it was worth it, lovely big room comfy bed, great view and the sound of the babbling stream ! Dinner was fantastic quality and very good... More
