Such great hospitality! The front desk team was really great- they accommodated me with a quieter room (I’m a light sleeper) and sent complimentary champagne up for my birthday. The hotel is minimalistic, but I loved the style. Would stay again!
Let me preface this review by saying: I spent most of my life in hotels for short stays due to work. Many of my friends and colleagues ask me where to stay because I’ve built a pretty good scheme to judge hotels by and rarely do I review them. Enter the Robey that was immediately so impressive I was annoyed I’d have to write them a review. This hotel sets the standard of what every other hotel in the country should be doing. Every single one of the staff here has treated me like they’ve known me for years. From the friendliest greetings to a genuine “How are you?” I have been absolutely blown away. Every last one of them have been going above and beyond to make this stay incredible and I’m just here for a quick overnight. The attention to detail in the rooms is amazing. Super comfortable beds and the down pillows are the cleanest and best shaped I’ve used in ages. Bathrooms are so clean by the way. You would think this place opened yesterday. The Up Room is not to be missed. When we arrived the front desk sent us up with a couple free drinks to use at one of their bars. We went to see the skyline instead and the views did not disappoint. Cocktails were quick from the fully stocked bar with some of the best options, delivered quickly by staff who gave us plenty of room to chill and catch up in a quiet corner of the rooftop. These people truly get it. Marriot Bonvoy typically does a good job but this is the most impressive I’ve ever seen them. My room: 1107 Skyline view and really nice exterior view to the city. Very impressive blackout curtains and plenty of room to more around and get work done. The orientation of the couch and table for getting work done along with the bed are angled for the best view while in the room. Would absolutely request this room again. The only thing I’d change about this place: The mini fridge in the room comes with two complimentary cokes (1 diet), 2 convenience size Fiji waters and two beers. I would love a full minibar though. While I love that it’s all included in the stay, had I not met up with a gentleman caller and gone out for cocktails I would have stayed in and had a couple drinks here. I have felt so at home at this property that it’s bookmarked for Chicago to use as my first priority hotel. Unless they’re sold out, I don’t intend on staying anywhere else.…
Amazing hotel and amazing staff! The location is great. Loads of bars and restaurants. Loads of places to visit. Staff was unbelievably nice and accommodating. The cafe downstairs was delicious! Lovely place for a staycation.
Great stay. Excellent service, amazing location, and great amenities--cafe, bar, pool. The room was large and comfortable, with modern but friendly finishes. The shower was great! I would definitely stay again.
The Robey is quite frankly an unusual, yet fascinating, conversion of historic Wicker Park turn of century buildings into a modern, minimalistic art deco hotel. It epitomizes the atmosphere and nuance of the downtown area; Hustle and bustle, multiple attractions and things to do within the hotel as well as in the surrounding neighborhood. There is an extremely vivacious vibe. One warning, the Blue Line is directly adjacent to the hotel and the walls (at least in the annex portion) are thin. So, there is a tendency for noise within and without. However, this did not bother me. On the contrary, it added to the ambiance. There is a white noise machine in the room if a person needed it. The only complaints are the lights above the sink were burnt out which made it difficult to see. As well as, not getting my credit card and drivers license back after they copied them. Staff were very responsive when notified about these issues. And yes, it can be an expensive stay. But, it’s well worth it, in my opinion, because of all it has to offer. It is truly a unique, memorable experience. …
This place is in the middle of Wicker Park, right by the Damen blue line stop. There are tons of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc nearby, you will not be bored. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were well-designed, and the drinks at the bar were well balanced and delicious. Can't wait to come back!
I love the character and charm of the Robey Hotel. It's location is fantastic, and the staff are super personable and helpful. And I particularly love the corner rooms and the views of the neighborhood. The second floor bar is terrific. I love the Cafe Robey. And while the Up room was closed for a private event this visit, I usually enjoy being there as well.
We were in the King Corner Suite , 11th floor, and it was incredible. The views are spectacular! The room is very comfortable and the bed slept great. We loved the 2nd floor longe to visit with friends also staying at the Robey. We were in town for a wedding shower and the location is very convenient. Be sure and try La Colombe for coffee and brobagel for bagels. Both are very near to the hotel as is great shopping and Etta (a favorite restaurant). Will definitely stay here next time in Chicago.
It’s an amazing place with an excellent staff. Food incredible and an amazing neighbordhood. Every person help me, give me advice and recommendations about places to visit or to eat In my next visit to Chicago, I’m staying here.
Beautiful and clean establishment. I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay. I was there foe three nights and the whole experience, including the cafe and other food/drink locations were fabulous.
