I’m a longtime Chicago Hilton customer, so any deviation to my normal habitation plans requires much forethought. On this weekend excursion in the heart of winter, however, I got the nerve to try out the Palmer House based on proximity to meeting and my own curiosity. After all, I had heard a lot about Palmer House over the years but...

One of the Crown Jewels in the Hilton portfolio, the hotel could give its own history tour, which it does Monday thru Saturday at 1:30 pm. The lobby itself is worth the visit, and the Empire Room hearkens back to the days of the Big Bands and entertainers which performed thru 1976, when it stopped being a show stop for...

We have stayed here in the past and love it every time! We attended our annual Dental Convention and reunion with 7 of us ladies in 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms! Highly recommend! Spacious and beautiful rooms! I look forward to the comfy beds for a good night's sleep after a long day and night out on the town! See...

I was very pleased with my stay at the Palmer House. It is an elegant and well maintained historic hotel. It has a great location within a block of the art institute and the theater where the Hamilton musical was being performed. There were also many good restaurants and entertainment venues in the area. I would recommend this hotel to...

When you travel a lot on business, it's always nice to stay somewhere with some character. My room was small, but it was very comfortable and had some of those character features. Positioning of the TV in the room was odd to the side of the bed, but otherwise no complaints. Check in was not great; there are about 10...

The history and skeleton of the building is shocking and awe inspiring. Having high tea in the atrium is one of the best times I had in Chicago. The building and available amenities is enough to garner a 4*, to make it 5 though they should really focus on service. The front desk staff just seemed annoyed (which is actually...

Although I usually prefer small boutique hotels, this was fun. It is very large, with a gorgeous lobby and bar (and friendly bartenders). The elevators have a running list of trivia about its storied past, and the corridors are lined with black and white phjotos of old time celebrities. The room is a standard Hilton, and was fine. It is...

Hello Peter B, Thank you for sharing your review. Did you know that the celebrities in the black and white photos that lined the corridors performed in our history Empire room during their career? On your next visit, ask a member of the staff to show you the dress room that they used located in the Empire room. I think...

The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, but the bar area and lobby are beyond beautiful. The hotel is centrally located, mere blocks from the the lake, Millennium Park, restaurants and shopping. Truly a grand old hotel and worth the stay.

If you have never been to this fab city you must stay here to feel like you have been to Chicago! You will feel history be pampered and remember it always. We did the Muesuams and Tower and enjoyed the nearness to the Theatre district

Gorgeous building and common areas, with authentic restoration of the original building which looks like it was a bank or office building. However the room was small, very far from the elevator, with a cramped, almost unusable bathroom.

Hello Ted D, Its nice to know that you enjoyed your experience even though we did not place you in a room that was perfect for your needs. I'm sure that for our next visit we can do a better job at keeping you near the elevator in a room that suits you. Thank you for sharing.
