The HI in Chicago is a decent place to stay in Chicago. The location is great as it is within walking distance of most major 'sights'. The rooms, beds and breakfast are fine too. The staff I was unimpressed with. They did their job but didn't seem interested at all. Not what I expect in a hostel. I would also...

There are lots of things to like about this hostel, but there are a few issues. I am going to try to cover everything, so here it goes... GOOD THINGS The lobby was really cool, with comfy couches and tables. At the front desk they gave each of us a room key, which was actually very helpful. I had no...

A bunch of mates and I booked a last minute 8 bedroom female dorm on the day of arrival and it was very cheap. The place was clean, great wifi, large kitchen with free breakfast, pool tables, ping pong, lockers and luggage storage. Would definitely go there again.

HI - Chicago is a very well located hostel. I stayed there for 3 days and was able to walk all over the best places easily. The area seems to be very safe, even for night walks. Since it's located downtown, the hostel is just a few blocks away from good restaurants, bars, pharmacies, and LaSalle Station (Metro). I stayed...

From the check-in to the check- out the entire experience was perfect! The service was great, lovely staff. I stayed in a private room, very clean and private for four girls! I stayed here for Pitchfork Festival 2015 and it was so easy to get around, I received help from front desk and got there and back with no problem....

Took a Cadette Girl Scout troop on the MegaBus from Cincinnati to downtown Chicago and walked to this hostel. We felt safe in and around the bldg. and the location was within walking distance of so many sites. The rooms were spacious, clean, and perfect for our group (two rooms of 4 bunks each). We utilized the refrigerator for leftover...

I have stayed in HI Chicago for the last two nights of my stay. Before that I stayed at Urban Holiday Lofts ("UHL") (which is also very popular according to the review and rating in hostels.com). HI Chicago is situated at the prime site of the downtown. It's about 10-15 mins walk from the Jackson Station (on blue line -...

I had the most wonderful time while my stay in HI Chicago! great accomodations, clean and met great people. Also took free tours. And the location is more than excellent. I barely used transportation. Great experience.
