I had a great time at the Hoxton last weekend! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Cabra on the rooftop was an incredible experience and absolutely delicious. We had a great view from the 11th floor and the bed was super comfy.
I was visiting Chicago for a hot minute and after a stressful few weeks at work, decided to “treat myself” and stay at The Hoxton. I’ve lived in Chicago for several years prior to leaving, and used to go to The Hoxton for drinks/dinner/lounge downstairs. Let me tell you— from the time I arrived until when I left— I wish I could have stayed longer here. Matt and Ajia (sp?) at the front desk were/are so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The vibes were on point— really great energy from the both of them. The price was reasonable. The location = perfect. The room was chic and modern, VERY quiet and clean, and the Tiny Breakfast option is SO smart and easy. Simply put: I loved it. I hope management def checks out reviews and keeps up this momentum! I’m telling all of my Chicago-bound travelers (business trip or otherwise) that this is the place to stay.…
Such a fun experience! From eating dinner at Cabra on the rooftop to visiting Lazy Bird the speakeasy in the basement. The bed was so comfortable and I loved the rain shower. Overall I would visit again.
I've stayed at other Hoxton hotels and loved them so I was expecting the same for the Chicago location. Sadly, not the case. It looks like a Hoxton, same decor, same style, but the people working there are nowhere near as friendly or helpful as at other locations. Front of house are mostly moody, uninterested, and aloof. Housekeeping does a very half-hearted job (toilet had pee stains under the seat when I arrived, still there when I left 4 days later, and I requested a room clean everyday - you have to request it here which seems bonkers. Why would I not want my bed made/room cleaned everyday?!). I read another review that said this place is a bar/restaurant with rooms above, and the staff seem MUCH more interested in those customers than the hotel guests. I'd agree with this 100%. Restaurant staff were great, but the lady with short black hair and glasses who drags her Doc Martin boots across the floor as she walks all over like a moody teenager, you gotta stop that. If you were in my restaurant you'd have been out the door on day 1. Paying diners do not want that sound around them up and down the restaurant floor constantly. On the plus side, great beds, very comfy. My room had a good view too. Shame no bathrobes/slippers, and towels are small and didn't feel that new. What you're meant to do after a shower if you didn't bring your own robe, I don't know, but as someone who showers after a long day, it's nice to have a robe to wear afterwards. Not possible here. The restaurant was busy and the food was excellent - and plenty of great food choices nearby too. Location is good also. In summary, I would not stay here again, but if the hotel staff were given a serious amount of retraining (or replaced en masse) then maybe this place will improve.…
Very interesting - very hip and beautiful. The rooms are very intellectually designed and comfortable. The desk is very helpful and everything is convenient. There are several restaurants - food is very good and the crowd is 20/30- of very beautiful people. A few drawbacks- I found the hallways to be very noisy and the doors slamming closed were quite bothersome. Housekeeping is not everyday (although I believe can specifically request ), no gym on site , and mini bar is empty. All in all - great location , many wonderful restaurants near by (including sonnet the hotel), but noisy and limited facilities.
This past weekend my wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in Chicago. We decided to stay at the Hoxton on Green St. To begin with, our check-in experience was smooth and effortless. Lydia, Katia and Matt gave us all the information we needed and even anticipated some of the things we might need to know, as this was our first time staying in Chicago. Chris was also on point and recommended a great brunch location within walking distance of the Hoxton. Anytime you stay at a new location, it is always time consuming to get your bearings. Helping us with this were Jamal and Aisah who made locations in the hotel easy to find, especially the Peloton room. We had a great, stress free workout thanks to them. Finally, my wife and I would like to thank Eden, Sharmaine and Eric for recommending the hotel restaurant, Cabra. It did not disappoint and fit the importance of the occasion perfectly. I am not sure who it was, but one of them even got us a special treat at the restaurant in honor of our anniversary. We could not have selected a better location than the Hoxton to celebrate this milestone in our marriage, and because of their great service, we are already planning our next visit. …
the hotel is amazing, just don't dine at the lobby restaurant if you're in a hurry, the service is quite slow The rooms are definitely cozy, so as long as you're close to the person that you're sharing with, or traveling alone, you're in good shape.
Eric gave us a great recommendation for dinner. Katia and Mikaela treated us like the most important folks on the planet… and then they did it again with the folks after us. We will be back! What a great experience!!!
Had the pleasure to stay at the Hoxton Chicago - great hotel with a very busy bar- staff is very welcoming - location is amazing, surrounded by great restaurant and night life - heart of the city 30 minute walk only.
I came to Chicago with friends, and we had a great stay. Our rooms were well appointed, with great views of the area - they aren’t huge but have absolutely all you need for a good sleep. We ate in both restaurants on property, and enjoyed the bars immensely! Go to the speakeasy for sure. I highly encourage you to stay here. Friendly and cool staff and vibe. You have many interesting and tasty choices of other dining places in the area, and it’s very close to transportation.
