Not sure why so many negative reviews. Great location, clean rooms and the best rate for a weekend. If you are going to complain about noise then Chicago is not the place for you. Every big city hotel charges huge parking fee. Take the train for $2 over night parking. So much easier! Felt safe walking the neighborhood. Will definitely be back.
I’ve stayed here twice now for work. It’s a super convenient location if you take the Amtrak into the city. The rooms have been clean and the staff has been nice. This time the heat wasn’t working. I was nervous to call as it was 9 pm and I didn’t want to have to move rooms. They sent someone up and I got a whole new thermostat in under 30 minutes time!! Service that prompt is astounding!
David was great accommodating a family member with disabilities. He made sure all the other family member stayed in rooms near by. I can’t thank David enough for his help and service . Thank you David
I had high expectations because of the name but it's dated and dirty. Breakfast is only on weekdays. There was literally one drop of coffee in the lobby. Every hallway and elevator smelled like weed. Not impressed.
Location drew me in, but unfortunately I will not stay here again. The restaurant is closed on the weekend. The parking garage was full early in the evening and unavailable ...and the alternative is two blocks away in an uncovered parking lot. The air conditioner has two settings : high and off. - so I was up during the night turning it on and off. The entire hotel has a foul odor. Furniture in the rooms ,and throughout the hotel, needs replacement. Paper flyers are sloppily taped to the elevator walls. Place needs an overhaul. A rip off ! Really not sure why this is even considered a three star hotel.
Brandon was SO helpful during check-in! We had a very busy weekend and stayed at the Crowne Plaza to attend a wedding. He went above and beyond to make sure my check-in process was smooth! The room was very clean. Only a brief hiccup when we called for towels and they were not brought up, but it was later at night. Would definitely recommend for families, safe area.
I stayed here for 3 nights. At the time I made the booking, I was not made aware that the restaurant and bar would not be open and breakfast would only be available Monday to Friday. Given my booking started on a Friday and as Diamond member of the hotel's chain loyalty programme I am entitled to opt for a free breakfast for every morning of my stay in a hotel. So, instead of 3 breakfasts I end up with 1. Compensation for lack of facilities - apparently in my dreams! Would have I booked this hotel if I had known the true facts at the time of booking - absolutely not! If I had chosen to walk away instead of checking in, my booking was subject to a $250 early departure fee - spot the shysters! The hotel looks like it could do with being re-furbished. If I want the room to be serviced I am required to give 24 hours notice. I did not request the room be serviced but I wanted further supplies of shampoo, shower gel and towels etc. - as I came out my room there was a maid with a trolley in the corridor. I asked for the shampoo etc. but was refused and told to ring "downstairs". This had not been a problem the previous morning. What sort of customer service is this? Whilst the hotel is relatively conveniently situated, the view from the hotel window is multiple freeways. Do I recommend this hotel - NO.…
Just returned from a 4-day stay at this hotel. First with positives, its location is great for those who need to be in downtown for business. It was within walking distance to corporate offices. Close to amenities like Walgreens, Whole Foods, Starbucks, etc. I didn't interact with many staff, but Brandon at front desk was phenomenal. He was the only person manning the check-in. Despite being short staffed, he was calm, very helpful and smiling. He needs a raise. As for the room, it has a lot to be desired. Toilet works with every 3rd flush. Popcorn ceilings. Small bathroom with hardly any counter space for toiletries. Shower with low water pressure. Hallway hardly had AC so it was stuffy. A coworker who stayed across the hall from me woke up with bug bites.
The team at the front desk did a great job, you could say they are GREAT. Mary Ann and Brandon were really personable. Would recommend. Probably the only thing I can complain about is the minimum of 200 characters to leave a review.
Had a very pleasant stay! Location was good, room was clean, and the staff was so friendly. I was flying on a red eye and David at the front desk was able to accommodate an early check-in for me which was wonderful. Thank you David!! You made my travel day suck just a little bit less.
