We had tickets to a concert at the Auditorium Theatre, so this was the most convenient and the most affordable hotel in the Loop. The information provided in the room explained that the hotel was actually built in 1893 as an annex to the Theatre. The lobby is spectacular with extremely detailed tiled ceilings and classic lobby furnishings. Gold-doored elevators...

I a staying here now and I have not been happy with my stay. When I first got there they couldn't find my reservation that I made through my credit card's concierge service. I had a confirmation number but for some reason they couldn't find it using that either. Come to find out that they switched my first and last...

Clean, well maintained and a great location. I highly recommend it! Of course, because it is very old, it is shabby around the edges and not a luxury hotel, but clean and the beds are very comfortable. We paid slightly more for a view, which I STRONGLY recommend. You can see the park, fountain and lake. The heating and AC...

This is an older hotel, but it has been recently remodeled and is very attractive. Our room was a "family suite" consisting of two rooms - one with a king bed and one with two queen beds. The room was neat and clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel...

Awesome location, across from Grant Park.. Our first impressions of a grand old world hotel after a long flight, was nothing short of spectacular! The staff were wonderful and had the heaters on in our room.. Brilliant! Our room was huge and clean and the bathroom was fantastic.. Rufus, the chef, was wonderful and witty and knowledgeable about his city,...

Not sure about all the positive reviews. Maybe some rooms have been refurbished, but certainly not all. Just moved in today. The room is on the 8th floor. The room looks very old and outdated. The size is small as in some European hotels. Everything is dated. Chipped paint everywhere. Chipped bathtub. Scratched furniture. Only one nightstand by the bed....

This is a really interesting hotel right on Michigan Avenue. The rooms have been redecorated so are much better than on previous visits, but the corridors and lifts are a bit grotty. Not all rooms have views and some look onto an internal well. It is just very pricy for what you get. We didn't even have a chair in...

Great Location across from Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain. We took the Blue line from Ohere and switched to Red Line and the hotel was a two block walk. Buy a Three Day Pass at metro station and works on busses. We took our breakfasts at the Corner Bakery and the Artist Cafe both on Michigan Street several blocks from...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Congress Hotel. I have often seen the bright neon sign from the train as I would travel to and from Chicago on the SouthShore train. I had not stayed there before because the sign is a bit outdated and I wasn't sure if that would be an indication that the hotel would...
