The hotel is at a brilliant location right across from the Buckingham fountain at the grand park. But for the love of God, I cannot understand how the owners could let this historical place run down so badly? If you get in, it has a beautiful lobby, but that's it! The rooms are just a catastrophe, old with broken furniture...

This hotel can certainly use a face lift. The rooms are small and very dated. There is no thermostat to control the temp. The towels were as old as the carpeting. You are paying for location which is close to everything. You are across from Grant Park which is always teeming with activity.

I am usually all in to stay at an old historic hotel and also not accustomed to 4 or 5 star hotels. Pros: + staff was exceptionally friendly and very helpful + wifi was quick & easy (i.e. when I couldn't get on, someone called and helped me find a workaround immediately) + it is very close to a park...

The hotel's location is amazing. Very close to the Art Museum, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Downtown, and Michigan ave. The room was fairly clean, though showing its age. Interestingly the beds did not have fitted sheets, never seen that before. The majority of the towels were taken away during the room cleaning service. The breakfast at the restaurant...

I have hundreds of bedbug bites and have spent $$ on medical treatment and replacing the luggage I had to throw away after staying at the Congress Plaza. It is a disgusting and dangerous place. When I told one of the managers about this problem, she said she did not care. They serve canned fruit and factory farm eggs on...

A friend and I wanted to have a girls trip in Chicago, we picked the hotel based on the reasonable price, great pictures and location. The location was awesome. It is directly across from Grant Park and convenient to transit and other areas of the city. However, the room left very much to be desired. We stayed in the Buckingham...

We booked this hotel on Priceline. I feel like the star rating Priceline is giving this hotel is misleading, it should not be in the same group as the other hotels, it should be a 1 star hotel. So, beware if you are using Priceline's Name Your Own Price and choose 2 1/2 stars. (Also, Priceline didn't publish my review...

Let me start by saying the location of the hotel is AWESOME!! Now is where the review goes down hill. We stayed at this hotel 10-12 July 2015. We were in a family suite. The tv in the bedroom with double beds did not work. Congress Plaza needs a MAJOR renovation. 11:00pm, we returned to our rooom to take showers...

Mediocre stay at a mediocre hotel. You know going into your stay that this is an old hotel but accept that due to the location and the price. However, the service that I received this weekend was positively sub-standard. Housekeeping was not good and the service at the front desk was equally as bad. We had to call 5 times...

We stayed at the Congress for 3 nights during the week. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better location. It's within walking distance of museum campus and Millenium Park. The hotel was a little dated, but very comfortable.
