My friend and I visited Chicago for the sight-seeing. This hotel has a great price, great location and very friendly staff. Hotel is older, so if you can look past it's age then it's an excellent place to stay.

Walking in the doors of the congress plaza you are hit with a harsh smell of vomit and dust. Check in staff were ignorant, unpleasant and couldn't have cared less about us. The only good thing I can say is the person who took our bags to our room was pleasant and helpful. On the way to the room the...

I was scared to stay at this hotel after seeing the reviews. We just spent 2 nights and although it's kind of creepy in the halls and rooms it was ok. And the location is second to none!! Close to lots of coffee shops, places to eat, bus tour routes, cabs always available right out front, beautiful views. Can't beat...

My wife and two children 16 &9 went to spend the night after a day being inundated by all the stores museums restaurants in the best spot of Illinois's best city ever. We checked in at around 6 pm even though check in time is around 3. Very courteous girls at the check-in. Make sure you validate your car next...

We stayed at the Congress Plaza Hotel for three days that I never hope to live it as a hotel experience again. We were checked in quietly enough, but the fun started when we were shown to a very old elevator that had a line of people 12 thick waiting as the elevator cab slowly worked its way down 14...

I stayed at the hotel June 4-7. During the course of these days, I spent a lot of time in the hotel lobby connecting with friends and colleagues- I never had a problem (but then again, I'm a white guy). However, my black colleagues had a very different experience on those exact same dates- being racially profiled, asked to prove...

It is the policy of the Congress Plaza Hotel to never discriminate on behalf of race, gender, class, ability, sexual orientation, or for any other reason. We are one of the largest hotels within the city with a diverse workforce and are proud to cater to such a diverse clientele. We find it unfortunate that these customers were displeased with...

Chose this hotel based on rate and proximity to McCormick Place. I travel at least two nights per week and this room was a great disappointment. I did not have unrealistic expectations. I guess you get what you pay for. When water was running there was loud squealing noise, desk did not have plug for computer ...I had to pull...

Terrible experience. Unprofessional employees. Terrible customer Service. Please save yourself and find a better hotel. The Front Desk employees were very rude and the Manager was no where to be found. Dont stay at this hotel

Yes it's an old hotel but it has character! Excellent location and clean. Helpful staff. The entrance, corridors & reception area are stunning. Shabby in places but our room on the 12th floor looked like it had a new carpet. Loved the bar:-)

I stayed here during a congress in Chicago for several days; hotel is old and you will mention it; my room was clear; wifi worked excellent; staff was patient enough to deal with central european English; breakfest average; excelletn location - about 3,5 km to McCormick congress centre and about two blocks to The Art Institute.
