My husband and I had a lovely three night stay at the Intercontinental. We were in Chicago for a business trip but had some free time to explore the city, thankfully. Check-in was very easy. Because we are reward members we received a 10% discount card that could be used there at the hotel at the restaurant (Michael Jordan's), wine...

The hotel staff welcomed us warmly and answered our questions. Our room on the 11th floor was clean and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful, with continental choices as well as hot breakfast items and made-to-order omelettes. The location of this hotel is the best part. The two best wine bars in the city -- Eno and The Purple Pig -- are...

Hotel Intercontinental is a beautiful, historic hotel located in the middle of all great shopping and eating. Service was exceptional from curbside to staff in the fitness center. Rooms are clean with modern updates. Spectacular rate through Expedia and got a free upgrade at check-in! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Stayed here the week before Christmas and had a wonderful stay. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and the foyer looked very festive. It was FREEZING outside but every time you entered the hotel it was lovely and warm and the reception from the hotel staff was just as warm and welcoming. Our room was a decent size but...

In general, it's clean and nice place for a short stay, however, the house keeping doesnt regularly make sure room had been refresh since some time I leave hotel but late, even told house keeping in face to clean up rooms, but still doesn't do it sometimes. And mini bar usually forget to replenish daily, almost every night to call...

Spacious room with a King size bed. First time that I've came across with the right pillow that suits my requirements. The location of the hotel is flawless. In the heart of Chicago. Whatever your soul is desire, is exactly next to you. The only cons that I found is the quality of the amenities (i.e. luck of amenities such...

Just stayed in a King Suite for a mini vacation over MLK. Location right on the Magnificent Mile is super convenient and close to the Art Institute, Millennium Park, shopping, dining, etc. Room was slightly dated but very large and well appointed (two couches, spacious bath, coffee maker). Wine bar on first floor is great for a nightcap. Middle lane...

Our entire experience was wonderful. We had two reservations, as we had to add a day online to our original trip. The staff at check-in was wonderful in making sure the reservations got combined so we wouldn't have to move rooms. The room was VERY spacious. I've stayed in broom closets in Chicago, but the tower king was excellent. The...

Perfect location for my meeting nearby and to walk to major shopping, restaurants, and even the movies! Initially I couldn't find my coffee maker and expressed a little disappointment that I could not get a small bottle of water to take medicine, sip before bed without spending $12 since I was going to be there for 4 days. They called...

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
