We stayed at the beautiful Renaissance Chicago during a Birthday trip. The hotel is exactly as it is presented in pictures if not better. The entrance and lobby are incredible and give you a metropolitan feel that makes you think you are walking into a...More
This hotel has amazing waterfront views. It is very close to the river and has several close entrances to the riverwalk. There is a subway (above ground) about one block away.
The magnificent mile is not far but not really walkable unless you like to...More

Theresa P - Thanks for making us a part of your windy city adventure! Until next time, live well!
Excellent location—view of the river, around corner from theaters, and easy walking distance to Chicago fun. Great food. Fun decor. Clean and well maintained. Pleasant and helpful staff. Would like grab and go food and drink options available in lobby 24/7. Will definitely be back.

The hotel is conveniently located near the theater district and an easy walk to shopping on the Magnificent Mile. The view from the hotel restaurant overlooked the Chicago River and the Salmon Salad was the best I've had in a while. I will visit again...More

LotusExplorerTravel - Thanks for sharing your feedback about our hotel and our Great Street restaurant. We hope you enjoyed exploring Chicago!
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

I had the choice of staying at either one of those hotels but I ended up staying at the Renaissance. Location is huge for me, it has spectacular views of the city. Everything you could possibly be looking for is a walking distance. The rooms are up to date as for the JW had an old style to their rooms that I was not a fan of. It’s more hip and low key.. they have it set up nicely.
