The Sheraton Grand in Chicago does have a 5 Star location and a nice lobby but the rooms are 1-2 star at best. Have stayed at any number of nicer Chicago hotels. Popcorn ceilings and a 1980s shower tub combo is a little unexpected for...More

We had two rooms, one booked a couple weeks in advance and a 2nd room booked 2 days before, from a 3rd party vendor. 2nd room was half the cost, but the hotel was generous enough to put our rooms next door to each other...More

Was a pleasure to stay at the Grand, part of the SPG group. Very courteous and helpful staff. Excellent view of the lakeshore. Pleasant stay. The other best thing was the beautiful riverside or lake side walk where you could walk or eat enjoying the...More
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as
the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The higher up, the better the view. We have had a corner on the river with an excellent view. They usually divide the views into river and city. Both are good. In December we were up high (33nd floor) and had a view of the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel through a canyon of buildings much taller than us. Enjoy!
