Perfect location 1/2 a block from the Magnificent Mile. The hotel is Grand and absolutely beautiful. Lots of history with beautiful views of the skyline and lake. Pay for the upgrade to see the Lake - the view is stunning. Parking is expensive but all of Chicago is. Bars are nice and the employees go above and beyond to make...

Booked rooms at The Drake on short notice. It had been a few years since I last stayed there and I wondered if the Hilton chain could keep up The Drake's traditional high quality. The good news is they have. Though the dowager empress now in the fiercely competitive Chicago hotel world, it remains the beautiful and gracious, so yes,...

Our two night stay at The Drake last weekend was nice. Of course during the Christmas season it is very crowded with guests and those dining. After living in Chicago for 15 years, this was my first time staying at this historic hotel. I had a room reserved with two double beds. Upon arrival I was told my room was...

I found the room to be very dated, meaning poor quality furniture that desperately needed replacing. The air conditioning was less then adequate for the room. The hotel was very quiet and clean. Room service was fantastic and the front desk staff was very professional. We ate once downstairs and found the food to be very poor.

We only stayed one night at this hotel but it worked out very well for our family of 5. We booked two connected rooms, ours was a king and our children's was two queens with a sitting area. We ordered room service which was good and rented a movie. The rooms are traditional but had a historic charm to them....

For her 24th birthday, my daughter suggested we try the holiday tea at The Drake hotel. The reservation process was confusing. We had to call several times and talked with three different people all of whom were certainly not on the same page as far as reservation availability. Alas, we finally reached "the person in charge" and made our reservations...

Close to the beach and Lincoln park. Rooms with great wives. A hotel with a lots of charm. Crystal candlers, wide hallways and several restaurants. Afternoon tea is very popular at the hotel. Christmas decorations all over. For 20$ you can upgrade one room type. Perfect location.

we had a great room on the 8th floor executive level. fantastic view. the room was reasonably priced. the hotel felt great. elevators could probably do with a bit of maintenance. i like that they have kept the historic element alive here. the rooms are updated though. the executive lounge on the 10th floor could really use some finesse. there...

We checked into the Drake on a one-night excursion to the Windy City. We wanted to do some shopping, look at the Christmas lights, get a picture with Santa...typical December stuff. First: it's faded elegance. Ok, a historic hotel, but it looks a bit...well...used. The lobby is small. Lots of folks trying to slide by a large gaudy Christmas tree...

Just got back from a wonderful pre-holiday weekend in Chicago. Selected The Drake based on its location and historical significance, but quite honestly don't know if we'd go again. Hotel is nice enough, however we felt additional renovation work was needed. For example the ladies room in Coq d'Or is cramped and not up to what one expects in a...
