Everyone was friendly and helpful. They informed me very early when my room was ready since we arrived very early. The room is small but that was expected. Bathrooms are very nice. They accommodated us even after checkout with our bags and parking.

You expanded and lost a lot of the hotel's uniqueness and now you look and feel like every other hotel - nothing special. The new ownership is seeking to quickly turn an ROI on their "improvements" which did nothing to improve the place but made it a generic hotel with poor quality for the price, too bad, I've got to...

Hi Milans89, I'm disappointed to hear that the renovation of the Hotel fell below your expectations as the majority of the comments we've received from guests, new and repeat, has been very positive. The purpose of the renovation was centered around improving the product for our guests, I sincerely apologize it did not come across that way during your stay....

Great people and property. You felt like you knew everyone on staff... and they knew who you were. Next time, I'd book a day or two more to enjoy the city, the hotel and some of the wonderful suggestions staff would make to get the most out of the trip!

The Talbot has undergone a renovation since December 2016. However it has always been a very nice hotel steeped in old world charm and luxury. It is super clean, comfortable, safe with great staff. It is easily within walking distance to magnificent mile and of course Star Bucks and Maggianos. The staff make you feel like family. Ive stayed many...

This was the perfect location to enjoy the Miracle Mile area and the best Restaraunts! The hotel was recently renovated and the decor and beds were very nice! We also enjoyed a drink in their lovely bar. The help we got from the concierges was very helpful in finding Restaraunts nearby and booking our fantastic Architect Boat Tour. A word...

even though the hotel just reopened from a complete renovation they forgot to renovate their employees politeness. No smiles....issues with continental breakfast advertisement on their TV sign on. was suppose to have a $15.00 per person comp towards breakfast according to advertisement, when we checked out was told that had to be asked for when we made our reservations. never...

This was not the hotel I remembered a year ago. So sorry that the décor had changed. Really disappointed in the newer style. I loved the older décor which made you feel like you were in an older European style hotel - very cozy. For $500/night (the rate we paid) I did not enjoy my stay. I understand that they...

I love staying in this hotel, updated and refreshed. Staff friendly, rooms are spacious and contemporary. Fantastic location. I'm about to say something picky but feel like I need to add it. The products in the bathrooms by Jonathan Adler have a very strong fragrance and are also a bit irritating to the skin. I would suggest they think about...

Room was much larger than expected. Refurbish was so new, you could still smell the fresh paint. The scaffolding outside was not a bother, it just reinforced that things were still brand new. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Superfriendly staff, they make you feel welcome and home. Quiet and clean room, rather small but large enough for one person. The bathroom was nicely renovated and spacey with a rain shower. The hotel has recently been renovated, the new style is a good mixture of old and new mainly held in the colours black and white, but you can...

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
