Restoring historic buildings and adapting them for modern use is painstaking work. The properties upon which Renaissance and Riverboat now stand were first acquired by Daniel Smith Harris in 1839. The lots changed hands many times until the Beltram and Weber Buildings were constructed in the 1850's. Over the years they've been held by many parties and served a variety of uses. When we purchased them, both were in disrepair. We decided to restore them and to turn them into accommodations that Galena could be proud of. Our goal is to provide 'a home away from home' for our visitors. We sought to combine three elements; comfort, elegance and a sense of history. You'll experience that "home away from home" feeling in comfortable elegance. Your Hosts, Terry and Victoria Cole

Had the best stay. Room is beautiful. The location is perfect. Walking distance from main street. Would recommend to anyone. Loved the private parking space. And breakfast was very good. Definitely planning on coming back.

Booked a couple nights here for a pretty good price. Easy check-in. Up the stairs to the Napa Room. Bedroom, bathroom with a kitchen and eating area. Little different. Decor was over killed with grapes. Curtains, wall plates, bed covers, shades. A little much. TV in the closet. Nice sitting area on a deck outside our room. Comes with continental breakfast. Very basic. Ate there the first morning. Went out for breakfast the second morning. Parking is a municipal lot across the street. Vintage building was very cool. Going to try other options the next time we’re in Galena.

First trip after COVID sheltering and I was a little concerned. Booked this small, quaint hotel and was pleasantly surprised and comfortable. Limited number of rooms , beautiful brick courtyard areas with outdoor seating. Stayed in a 3 rd floor basic room which was not great for one of us with mobility issues but made it work. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast pastries, fruit, yogurt cereals etc was plentiful and delicious. We did have some car traffic noise but not horrible. Location is great. Walk to downtown easy for most people. Check in and out easy. Would definitely stay there again

Had a very nice stay in the Chardonnay suite. Clean, comfortable bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. Nice breakfast. Can't wait to come back. Lots of details with the theme. It was a cold, snowy weekend, but steps, walkway and parking lot cleaned thoroughly. Great location.

We have been here a few times and I think it is up for sale for awhile now. But the rooms have always been lovely, it's a short walk to downtown Galena and all shops and restaurants (vs Eagle Ridge). We don't generally partake much of the continental breakfast, but it is nice to grab something quick and a juice or coffee. And the hot tub has been clean and always available when we were there. Usually don't have to share. No issues with checkin or payment.
