My wife and I stayed 1 night while visiting Galena, and had a fantastic stay in the tower room, which had a unique jet tub up some steep steps above the main room. From check in through breakfast the next day everything was easy, and Paul was a great host and very hospitable with everything. Although it was a short drive to Main Street it was nice being off the busy beaten path. It was quiet and bed and room very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, including some of the best French toast. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is WAY overdue since we stayed at the end of April 2021. I told Paul, owner and host extraordinaire, to look for my stellar review. Sorry, Paul! We moved this summer and everything got behind. We stayed in the cottage because we traveled to Galena for a family wedding with our two adorable Shelties. We arrived on a Thu. afternoon and stayed thru Mon. Paul had an unavoidable commitment Friday morning, so he served bkfast in the cottage for us that morning instead of in the main house. The food was fantastic every morning! Our son was best man in the wedding. On Sat. morning when he and the bride and groom were running all over, they swung by the Cloran to see us. There was so much food at bkfast that we asked Paul (this is embarrassing) if we could pack it up and feed our "kids." FIVE people were fed that morning! On Mon., we were served "aebleskevers." WHAT? Look them up. There were delish! The pups were very content with the arrangements. We walked them at the school across the street and brought them to the sculpture park in town. They are discerning art critics. The main house is really beautiful. There is video library (we watched Skyfall one night), and a little coffee area where guests can sit. The outside is really pretty, altho we were there before flowers were blooming. I can't say enough about Paul. He is really a wonderful person, easy to chat with, modest, and pulls off a gourmet breakfast and beautiful table setting every day. Not bad for a high school history teacher. The added plus is that the lovely town of Galena is a great place to wine, dine, shop, and mill around. On our way home we stopped in Dyersville, IA, to touch the hallowed ground of The Field of Dreams. About the space: The main floor bedroom is gorgeous and you don't have to climb the stairs. If I recall, there's a funky room upstairs w/access to a 3rd floor. Antonio's Cottage has a QUEEN bed (tbh we'd prefer a King) & is the only space that welcomes dogs.

My sister and I stayed at the Antonio Cottage and it was beautiful and peaceful. The mansion, cottage and grounds are lovely. The innkeeper is very kind and they stock the rooms with free soda and have treats to welcome you. The breakfast that is included on your stay was fabulous! The breakfast alone makes the stay worth it!! We highly recommend staying here; it's close enough to main street without having to be in the heart of noise and traffic. Check out Cloran Mansion you won't have any regrets.

We have stayed at the Cloran Mansion for many years. The proprietor is pleasant and anxious to make sure you enjoy your time there. Breakfast is superb, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the Inn itself is amazing for having been built in the late 19th Century. My wife and I highly recommend. Furthermore the area is quiet, safe and just minutes from town by car

Found this place online and thought it looked cute. Upon arrival, my boyfriend was skeptical about the location, as the surroundings did not look as peaceful or cute as the B&B itself. Don't let that trouble you....read on.... The B&B is really cute. We booked the tower room but had to ask to switch rooms because the stairs to the hot tub were an issue for someone like my (knee problem). Paul was very sweet and allowed us to switch rooms, luckily there was one room still available. Our king size bed was comfy. The room/suite was good size with a sofa, ceiling fan, fireplace, breakfast nook and lots of windows for good lighting. There was a coffee corner with supplies and frig with cold sodas and water, which was nice. Our bathroom was super roomy and included a makeup vanity with lights, cotton balls, swabs and a cloth makeup remover. It had a large jetted tub/shower combo, with a full length mirror and thick bathrobes as well. They offer a small sitting room upstairs where they keep hundreds of movies if you are in the mood. There is also a microwave and a coffee spot with a few snacks like popcorn and granola bars, water. Unfortunately we only stayed one night so did not get to enjoy that room or movies. We took advantage of the fire pit and Adirondack chairs as the night was perfect for it. We had supplies to enjoy toasted marshmallow smores, and there was a bench that offered supplies to start the fire. There is also a screened gazebo with seating for 4-6 people. Next to that is a water fountain and small pond with coy fish. Everything was very quiet during the evening, so I doubt this would be a place where you would want to get rowdy. We enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. Breakfast was served at 2 times the next morning 8:30 OR 9:30, your choice. The breakfast room décor is Victorian with a long table , they also have a small table for 2 in a window nook. The table settings were quite lovely and I noticed the "place chargers" to set silverware on to avoid staining the lace tablecloth. Alas, even though I pointed this out to my boyfriend, he still put his used silverware on the lace. There was cold water, coffee and different juices on the table for passing around, as you will most likely be dining with others staying at the B&B. Our breakfast began with a bowl of fresh mixed berries topped with a bit of cream. We were then served a delicious granola covered French toast with syrup and sausage links. We were offered our choice of made to order eggs. English muffins with 2 different homemade jams as well. I would most definitely recommend and stay here again. With the great breakfast included in the rate, expect to pay between $175-225 depending on the room you choose. Paul has thought of all the little touches that any high end establishment would have.
