Beautiful and creatively designed space in great location. The artwork was a lovely addition and the space was very unique and uniquely furnished. It was a particular treat to rest our bones on the hand-designed bed made from old timber that had grown on the same parcel of land. We enjoyed the sauna!

We love Abe's. It's close enough to our house for a convenient weekend get away. The room is aways clean and fresh smelling. The location is close enough to downtown to make the trip easy. Parking is a little tight but it's not too bad. We've stayed there many times and hope to geo back many more in the future.

Charles and Sandy are the perfect combination of wonderful creativity and excellent management. Each room is an artist's creation...an artist's attention to detail...an artist's eye. Along with the beauty is the comfort and the fantastic warm customer service. So welcoming...so beautiful. If you go to Galena, try to book here first.

Home away from home is how I would describe PJ's Roos! You are about 4 blocks away from the beginning of the main street where all the shops are, it is walkable but we chose to drive down as there is a lot of shops to discover and our feet got a little tired of walking. If you want to cook in the kitchenette, check with the owners to ensure they have what you will need for your stay. Great stay and do recommend.

We stayed in Rudolph’s Retreat for two nights last week. The set-up was awesome with the bedroom, sitting room and private bath. Having a fridge was an added bonus so we could keep some snacks and things for sandwiches. Enjoyed watching the neighboring deer in the evenings from the little patio. Charles and Sandy were super hosts who prepared great food and served in a unique atmosphere. Lots of history shared and a few ghost stories for a bonus! Close walk to Main Street for a very fair price! Extra precautions with current COVID concerns. We would definitely stay again!

Positives... + thick plush bath towels + huge room + not too far from town + allowed us to cancel for one of our nights, so we could stay at a hotel instead (see below) Negatives... - we selected this B&B specifically because their breakfasts are supposedly amazing, and booked it only a day before our arrival only to find out, upon check in, that they WEREN’T serving their fabulous breakfast in light of the Corona Virus situation! We understand , but Felt like they could have reached out to us to give us an option to change our plans. They gave us a voucher to eat breakfast at a town cafe instead. - showed us hot tub and sauna area, only to inform us the hot tub was no longer functional. (This was what my husband was so excited about). Again, be transparent and let guests know ahead of time. - room updated in late 80’s or early 90s— sans the charm of other period B&Bs in this charming area (we’ve stayed at two others)

The hosts were so easy to communicate from the very beginning. Check in was quick and easy, the room was comfortable & cozy, and breakfast in the grotto was DELICIOUS. Abe's is conveniently located--just a short walk to downtown Galena. The room had everything we needed and more; we loved every minute of our stay. This was our first trip to Galena, and we loved it--largely in part to our excellent hosts! Will definitely be returning to Abe's in the future.

We love going to Galena. It’s truly our home away from home. We absolutely loved Abe’s Guest House. Our innkeepers are a delight with amazing historical overview of the area and the guest house. For those that are beer drinkers, this place is for you. A former microbrewery in the 1800s. The best part of our stay was breakfast in the grotto with candles all around us.
