We have just spent 10 days at Kandima. The arrival was seamless by seaplane, arranged by the resort, and check in to our beach villa was also super efficient. The island is larger than many, meaning lots to explore by bike, different spots to eat and relax, two pools and a gym as well as well equipped watersports centre, tennis and badminton courts, even beach boot camps and daily yoga classes. In short, a fab spot for an active holiday although it also works as a flop and relax type of place. It was full yet the beach was never crowded and there was plenty of room for everyone. Particularly important during Covid times is that the resort was on top of hygiene and cleanliness - everything was scrupulously clean, temperatures were taken each morning as you arrived for breakfast and PCR testing at the medical centre for homeward journeys was very efficient and worry-free. We felt as safe at Kandima as we feel at home, which is a huge compliment to them. I particularly loved our outdoor garden bathroom, with open air rainshower as well as a traditional shower, bathtub and jacuzzi, encased in foliage. We were upgraded to an overwater villa for the last five nights - a beautiful experience, with chic, well equipped suites on stilts, enabling us to enjoy amazing snorkelling straight off the terrace. Just a couple of observations - the resort has a large children's club, which means it's family friendly so maybe not the most tranquil choice for couples as there were a lot of very young (loud) children at breakfast and lunch. We opted for the Zest restaurant in our F/B package rather than the noisier, more crowded Flavour which was more popular with families. You can also escape by eating at one of the a la carte restaurants (we loved Smoked) so this is a small quibble from someone whose kids are now grown up! I think the spa could be stricter on who comes in to use their relaxation zone...one dad thought it was appropriate to bring his four kids into the relaxation space to sit and chat idly (none of them had a treatment.) The receptionist tried her best to deal with them politely. And maybe ban mobiles from this zone too! Apart from that, it was a truly phenomenal break at a time when escapism is in short supply. The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly and helpful and the island itself is a picture postcard of a place with so many beautiful nooks to enjoy. Hello everyone, about Kandima I can say a lot of nice words, beautiful place a lot of jungle beautiful beaches. Kitchen and food very good but unfortunately not all restaurants were open ☹️ is not nice to pay and not use. Our stay at Kandima Maldives was hygiene and which is very important. What we liked very much you have the feeling that each of the staff takes care that they wear the mask all the time for every activity they do they are, as always, super friendly everything was wonderfully clean, we would be happy to come back next year it was wonderful. It was my first time in Maldives. Big island, magical sunsets, wonderful ocean, perfect weather conditions, place looks like a paradise. I’m in love. We did snorkeling almost every day, there are rich underwater world. We are grateful for the interesting excursions that we had from the Kandima snorkeling team. The food was good, especially at Smoked and Azure restaurants (prawns chips- one love ❤️). We had beautiful view from our sky studio room. But the best thing in this resort- Kandima crew. You are incredible! All of you. Kind, attentive, caring. Especially thanks to Joy Saldanha, our good wizard. He was always near when we need him. Amazing resort! I’ll be glad to see you again.
