Recently stayed, food amazing. A bit windy so walking between the islands challenging at times. Buggies need to run s bit more often. Only downside no books are being kept for customers because of Covid19 so make sure you bring some. Entertainment very low key not like unusual Riu hotels. We travelled my plane to local island then boat, very long winded next time will take the sea plane.

We went to the resort between 5 and 12 of October this year. First of all, we were lucky with the weather, only catching about 5mins of rain on a day. Also we were upgraded to a water villa, we booked a beach room (bottom floor). Everything on the palace side was amazing! The buffet has lots of options for all kinds of diets and staying on the Palace side you can book reservations for the 4 restaurants (2 on the Atoll side and 2 on the Palace side), unfortunately we had no chance to get a reservation for the Japanese restaurant, but we got to try the others. The ones on the Atoll side (Italian and the steak house) are not amazing, but we still had nice meals. On the Palace side we tried the Krystal restaurant and that was brilliant!!! They have an amazing lobster curry and everything was perfect!! One thing we felt the resort could improve is their wine choices, all are very poor... The biggest shout out has to go to the staff, they are the kindest, most polite and funny people we've seen on the business! Dilshan (our host), we loved all the towel animals he did and his amazing job taking care of our room! Samee (sports bar), always with a smile on his face, funny guy and super kind! Hashi and Prasad (entertainment team), both super motivated and made everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Prasad is also an artist with palm leaves!! Lénir, Luís, Janaka, Annabella (buffet/restaurants), with the first two was really nice and funny to be able to speak Portuguese so far away from home. All four are so polite, kind and always smiling, 5 stars!! Marchee, Pasi and Singhe (pool bar), always catered to our cocktail requests and surpassed all expectations!! Tip for people going there: Requesting the cocktails with their names is a must!!!! To all the staff and specially the ones mentioned, thank you!!! We miss you already!!

Just leaving here today with much sadness, amazing place. Stopped on the palace side, which is nicer and more private. Had a villa overlooking the sea number 63. Massive thanks to Marchee, Pasi and the rest of the staff at the paradise pool bar, they made our stay amazing. Lovely people. Sunset with the music playing is cool as. Restaurants are nice and plenty of choice so all good there, Sofia restaurant was our favourite however the Lobster curry in the Krastal restaurant was amazing. Great relaxing place, especially on the palace side, snorkelling every day and every day is different in the sea. Make sure you bring something to put on your feet in the sea as the coral is sharp. You’re gonna love it here, slightly bored after 10 days but will be back again just for a week next time. (I like more to do really) but if you like reading and sunbathing stop longer. Thanks Zoe and Julian (Salford)

I have stayed at many riu hotels over the world however the riu palace Maldives seriously blows them all the water and this is mostly due to the staff. A very special shout out to Puri, Mary, Nilan, Madara, Chamee, Sanjeew, Thanuka and Pasi who made this the most amazing holiday for me and my partner. Anything you asked of them was happily done and nothing was too much effort. We will be returning to this hotel next year and hope to see the same staff!! Thank you Riu palace Maldives for the experience and we will see use again soon. Lloyd & Karen.

Unbelievable experience at Riu Palace Maldivas. Service was top Notch and the facilities world class. Would definitely recommend for honeymoon or any other occasion. Lenir served us at the Palace buffet restaurant evening and was most pleasant. Real pleasant surprise to find out we were allowed at the Riu Attoll side as well meaning we had a lot of extra facilities. The food was great with a lot of different choices and menu varying constantly. Special thanks to our cleaner leaving the room spotless and leaving a special honeymoon message on the bed as well as different towel animals each day. Facilities and staff were all great and we enjoyed the excursions and activities. Special thanks to Alps, Bharat other barman and manager at the pool bar at Riu attoll where we spent most of our time during the day. Service was truly great, friendly people and great tasting cocktails. Must visit hotel.
