I will preface this by saying I spent 9 consecutive weeks in this hotel; same room during the entire stay. Though I may not have been overly impressed with with accommodations of the hotel (it’s hard to beat Double Tree and their fresh made cookies), I will tell you all that the staff is epic and amazing!!! For starters, Nikki, the breakfast hostess is AWESOME! She knows how to look out for her customers. She will not permit clutter or trash to stay on a table for more than a second. She’s personable, friendly, helpful, and genuine! Nikki was the sole reason I ate breakfast every morning in the restaurant! @HiltonHotels, she’s got my vote for employee of the year! Next shoutout goes to Carolina, she’s the evening dinner hostess. She will greet you with a smile every time and make sure you are well taken care of! Carolina makes a mean drink and remembers her customers. It’s a pleasure to watch her interact with the customers at the bar and in the lounge! Shout-out number 3 goes to Hunter. He’s the guest services representative at the front desk. Hunter is professionally friendly, extremely helpful, genuine and caring! After spending all day in a physics exam, I walked in the front door to start working on my physics homework, Hunter knew I was having a rough day just by my demeanor, he personally sent up a small gift bag with some goodies to let me know that he cared and hoped my night got better. That is the kind of character Hunter has. He is the epitome of future management material! Shout out number 4 goes to Kelli Jernigan. When the government was on the brink of shutdown in September, Kelli worked with me directly to get me the best rate possible for the remainder of my stay (about 6 weeks). She was friendly to work with, and didn’t require me to haggle with her. I offered her a summary of the situation, and she immediately took action to help me out. She is an amazing sales manager! Final shoutout goes to all of the support staff for making sure the rooms are clean, the gym is maintained, the pool room is tidy after 10,000 children have strewn the pool noodles everywhere, and everything just feels a little like home. During the entire 9 weeks of my stay, my room was cleaned, bed made, and towels replaced every single day without fail. You all are awesome! The hotel is a standard Hilton Garden Inn. The rooms are sufficient with standard furniture and bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. There is not a lot of light inside the rooms, just lamps and 1 light by the door. The pool is indoors and generally warm, but small. The hot tub is small, but quite nice and relaxing; although it was under maintenance a few times during my stay. The gym is small, but does have cardio equipment, yoga resources, and a dumbbell rack from 5-50lbs. Some of the weights have seen a much better day and should be replaced, I’m a bit surprised Hilton has permitted that kind of disrepair to continue for so long. I do have concerns about the security of the hotel, the rooms do not come with safes, and I did not notice very many cameras in or around the premises. Although I did not have any security issues during my stay, I would feel a bit more comfortable with overt security cameras at least in the hallways. The restaurant is ok. The food is good but pricey for the limited options on the menu. The drinks are stupid expensive. The Bloody Mary advertises as $12.00 and lists the vodka in the advertisement, but you get charged an additional $8 for a shot of Tito’s vodka. Just look out for that. …
