We visited with friends to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful building, great food and wonderful service. Pre dinner drinks in one of the comfortable lounges and then dinner in an intimate setting. If you want a special place for a special treat then this is it

Visited for the first time as a birthday treat. Lovely old property tucked away nicely from the main road. Friendly and informal service, with a modest but varied choice of courses. Nice to select dinner over a drink and nibbles before going to the table. Extensive list of wines, mainly French but with some new world offerings and advice available...

Had a fabulous lunch here yesterday. Our first visit, definitely not our last. On arrival we were welcomed by Rebecca, who lead us through the impressive lounge to a small snug for pre-lunch drinks and nibbles (which were fab!) Lunch itself was served in one of their cosy dining rooms, the menu was concise, but offered three mouthwatering choices for...

Perhaps we were unlucky but food very bland and uninteresting when it came to the table. The menu description made us believe we were in for a treat, but sadly this was not the case. The hotel/restaurant looks fantastic and very friendly staff.

It is hard to add to the fabulous reviews already written for this magical place. It is a fairy tale old house with a top class chef in a dream of A country location. On arrival we were met by the chef patron who invited us to wander anywhere in the house and grounds. We did. Visited the kitchens, the...

We turned up lunchtime today unannounced to be told they're only open on Wednesday for pre-booked lunches however as they weren't terribly busy they would fit us in. The waiter was friendly, not overly so, the fire had been lit and was very cosy for our pre-lunch drink, and the food was to die for. It was fabulous. One of...

Like some of the other reviewers, I really don't want to post this review otherwise everyone will want to go, and so they should. The house is beautiful and the welcome really warm. We went for dinner and were lucky enough to also be able to stay the night. The room was lovely, bed supremely comfortable and so peaceful. The...

This place is a hidden gem,, tucked away on the lanes of sleepy Somerset. It's setting and surroundings are stunning. We went there with friends, not to stay just for an evenings get together. We were made to feel instantly welcomed, given nibbles with our drinks then shown to our own room to eat...the food really is mouth-wateringly good. I...
