Marcia is a sweet and kind woman and I enjoyed meeting her. The Silo, however must have seen better days. We ended up not staying for our scheduled night after walking in to discover a decidedly musty smell in the place. The furniture is very old and the place needs a thorough cleaning and redo. This was suppose to be a nice surprise for me but it was horrible!!! The lady is sweet but has no clue what the places look like cause she can't walk that far to see them. She has a caregiver for the property and whomever it is does not know how to do their job!! First off we walked in...

It does not get any better than this. When will you ever have the opportunity to sleep and swing in a silo? So incredible for those who truly enjoy a quirky experience, however if you looking for a typical bed and breakfast, keeping looking. Marcia is warm and well informed, made us feel right at home. Don't miss this one.

This past June we had an itch to go for a little nature walk. We decided to do a little gallivanting up to "Starved Rock State Park" for the weekend and stay the night. Overall, I think Tripadvisor gives some very good information but overall the reviews show this B&B as being good. This is a injustice to accurate reporting. If you truly want a Illinois farm country experience, you need to stay at Marcia's. The rooms are cozy and unique. The artist in Marcia is represented in each of her rooms. We were given a stay at Marcia's as a Christmas/Anniversary gift, and it was the best gift we have ever received! We stayed in the Grain Bin, and it was absolutely amazing. This bed and breakfast not only is located near the interesting history of Starved Rock, but Marcia herself is a true treasure of kindness, and amazing interesting stories of her personal experiences with the Native American tribal history in the region. She treated us like family, made delicious food, helped us find anything and everything we were interested in seeing....

I made reservations to stay for nearly a week, sending a$50.00 deposit that was cashed I then canceled almost 2 months prior to my stay and never reserved my refund. BE WARE!!!
