Living in Mozambique I've been lucky enough to step in the Dunes de Dovela a few times.... and I'll go back. This place is absolute magic. I've stayed in the bungalows and in the safari tents. Both offer something special. The 3 bungalows are spacious and super comfortable (special mention for the ouside showers) and offer an incredible view on...

What we really needed was a proper break after not having had a holiday for almost a year. A proper break is what we got! Dunes De Dovela is set amongst beautiful, unspoilt nature and the unobtrusive design of the lodge fits perfectly in this environment. We stayed in the luxury tents and were completely overwhelmed by the simple yet...

Had a lovely stay at Dunes de Dovela! Aesthetically constructed cottages that blend unobtrusively into the surrounding natural beauty. Breathtaking sea views, miles of forested surroundings for nature walks, and gourmet food too! Above all, Alexandra and Thomas were wonderfully gracious hosts! Ancient bush protected by wild dunes, in between a freshwater lake and the indian ocean. The setting is too extraordinary to describe it with any justice. An abundant fauna and flora is all you will find for several kilometres around, that is except for the small and exquisite lodge, which melts itself into the wild. As a european residing in...

It truly is an amazing place. It was recommended to me by two friends who live in Mozambique. While I would say that it's probably a place best for couples, it is also suitable families or singles who just want some solitude. I would suggest three or four days. It is a bit of a drive from the main road...

Phenomenal, beautiful, friendly, simply amazing. We were meant to stay 2 nights, ended up staying 4. The accommodation is great, and the food is world class! Loved it! The fresh water lake is great for a morning paddle, with a lovely walk down there. The guide was wonderful, though still had lots to learn. And one can easily see who...

From the top of the hill, enjoying the best food we had in our trip, looking at whales jumping in the ocean... This place is a dream. And about 40 minutes walk inside the woods, beautiful monkeys and rare birds above us, we reach that incredible 25 Km lake, inside a canoe, venturing to remote villages on its shore. Stunning!

You have the adventurous drive to get there, as the road is challenging especially in the end. But its worth it -when you get there. Me and kids did not make it with my 4x4 Rav, for being automatic and too low. But the owner Tomas was prepare for this so we received help in no time. Travelled with my...

A trip of a lifetime, can't recommend this place enough - you'll be mad not to visit! Its clear as soon as you arrive that this place is a true labour of love, from the quality of the buildings and amenities to the brilliant service. The lodge was built over four years using local materials and the French owners hired...

Lovely place, hidden in the middle of a forest and right in front of the sea. The area is really preserved, with a beach where almost nobody except local fishermen pass. The landlords are also lovely and manage the place with a great interest of respecting the locals and the environment. They did an amazing job with the creation of...
