You won't regret a stay at the Oxbow B&B and you must allow time to chat with owner, Peg Doughty! She is 88 years young and runs this place well with the help of her hospitable daughters. The home is impeccably clean, our bed in the Pilot Knob was amazingly comfortable and spacious. Waking up to the smell of bacon...

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Oxbow. The room was large and comfy. Peggy, the owner was insistent that we make ourselves at home. We had many wonderful conversations with her. Breakfast was great. Oxbow was a highlight of our trip! Do not hesitate to stay here!

My husband and I and another couple had the rare pleasure of staying at a B&B which offered an overwhelmingly friendly owner in Peggy and a "bend over backwards" to help attitude of her friendly staff or actually her dear friends, who assist her in making the visitor's stay truly one to remember. Pristine rooms, extremely comfortable beds, lots of...

If you don't have family to stay with in or around Pinckneyville, IL, and wouldn't mind a little grandmotherly care (not the prying kind), then I highly recommend this little B&B. Peggy is the operator, concierge, maid, and breakfast chef. She and her late husband opened the place up in 1985 and have lived in the old house since 1960....

Thank you for the great review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope the next time you find yourself in Pinckneyville, Oxbow Bed and Breakfast will be your home away from home. Sincerely, Peggy (& her slightly more tech savvy grand daughter)

My family was in town for a funeral. We stayed at Oxbow B & B and it was wonderful. The owner was very friendly and went out of her way to make us comfortable. First off this review is long overdue. We were married in October 10, 2009. Our ceremony was at Washington County Lake and reception at Black Diamond Winery. We rented the Honeymoon suite for a few days which is essentially a cottage at Ox Bow. The owner was very sweet and made us feel at home. The privacy allowed us some...

Peggy was the perfect hostess. She treated us like family. The atmosphere was very homey, clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious with every comfort. The whole house is open to the guests, situated close to food places and shopping. My husband and I found it very much like being at home. I enjoyed swimming in the swimming pool in...
